Quoted from ForceFlow:Just spotted this on ebay:

This looks pretty good compared to a system 6 driver board I once had. The board had a 2" square burned out of it and they "HOGWIRED" the transformers together then made a block of silicone to keep them in place. The damn thing worked to.
Quoted from thedefog:Looks good to me! Just replace F4.
Naw, no need to buy a fuse. I'll just solder a jumper wire on the F4. They have a tendency to blow all the time.
Quoted from pinlink:What is it's job? I love this thread, but sometimes it is hard to follow along or know exactly what I am looking at because I am not as savvy as a lot of members here, especially with board repair. What is the actual function of this hot glue and why was it used? I am so curious.
Ok, here it is. It's silicone not hot glue. From what I can see the board fried and burnt a hole about 1-1/2 inch by 2-1/2. All the electronic components include the traces are just free-hanging and held together by the silicone. Going to get a backlight picture in a minute.
Quoted from ls1chris:5 glass caps, 1 radial , 1 resistor and a ratsnest of wire, it would be interesting to know there rhyme and reason behind it.
I just don't get it. If your smart enough to make this jerry rig. You sure the hell should be smart enough to buy a new part!
Quoted from ForceFlow:It was probably on route and the tech used the parts that were available to get it back up and running, rather than waiting a couple weeks for a chip he didn't have.
Some clever hacks like this were born out of necessity in order to keep a game earning.
Quoted from arcademojo:Agreed 100%. And I'm sitting here in the bathroom looking at my wife's shampoo bottle saying "I can make that into the subway I'm missing on my Stargate." Really I am.
It's the exact length. She's not going to be happy!
Quoted from ForceFlow:I might try using sheet metal to bend something into a similar shape that was originally used. Maybe use one piece for the bottom and cut out some tabs, then use another piece for the wall, and bend & rivet the tabs (or weld them, if you have that available)
Too much work! But like the idea!
Quoted from vid1900:Or there is a thing called a "golf tube liner" that goes inside a golf club bag $2
Fill them with sand so they don't kink, warm them up, and bend them to your will.
Can I borrow $2. Another good Idea!
Seriously, I tried contacting Steve Young but you know how the "WHAT'S THE PART #" thing went. I just need to find the part number. I'm sure they have one.

Well I happened to find a nice piece of sheet metal laying around. It's only temporary until I can find the right part or part number.
Quoted from 64bsstp:Got this one to repair recently. Still laughing.
Like water under the bridge.
Quoted from ajfclark:Isn't Q81 one of the special solenoid and if the activation switch gets stuck they'll burn as they fuses to allow multiple to activate at the same time? I thought that was why this was created, given individual fusing: https://nvram.weebly.com/repair--conversion-kits.html
You are correct. They are special solenoids. Not fused. I have the Weebly williams fuse kit on my other older Williams game and plan to install one on this. Great product.
