Well, at least you can still separate the boards!

    Quoted from cottonm4:

I never thought about liability issues when you have a game on location. So, I'm guessing if you had a pin catch fire and burn a place down that the insurance company will be fine tooth combing it as it looks for a way out of contract obligations.
Without a jimmied fuse, is it possible for a pin to spontaneously combust? Could a shorted transformer cause a pin to catch fire?

Yes. There are design errors in Williams pins (and others) that could cause a fire. I’m sure all companies have some.

Modern pins are built better with better protection (like MOVs and main fuse inside metal boxes)

    Quoted from Knxwledge:

Started on this DE Star Trek thats been sitting for 20+ years. Luckily no corrosion from the 20 year old Duracells. Greeted by this in the backbox though. Hows your Monday going?

And I thought the zip tied duct tape was bad…how does this shit find me?

Does that mean it’s 35c or 50c per play?

    Quoted from Quench:

Heh, if you could just see how thin the four wires actually are.

I presume your work was probably more straight forward like this at BR2 [quoted image]

Lest we not forget the 25mm fuses at F2, F3 and F4 soldered onto the old 1 1/4” fuses! This guy was quite handy!

You gotta give him credit for his dedication to preserve protection of those circuits. A lesser tech would have just used a screw or a bullet.
