I wish I took pictures of it, but just picked up a TMNT a few days ago. Someone in the past must have lifted the playfield at one time and put it back incorrectly so that it sat about an inch too deep. Instead of figuring out why it wasn't sitting correctly, they instead modded the machine to fit this gap at the front, meaning they tied the front of the pf to the hinge on the cab with picture wire and modded the plunger with aluminum foil to give it that extra length to strike the ball.
