Quoted from klr650:You are looking at the World's Easiest Slick Chick. Keep in mind, the playfield has no outlanes...
But the gobble hole is actually a micro-black hole so having to fight that gravitational force is a compensation for no outlanes.
Hmm... they did not put 3" flippers on the game.. or a ball-save... perhaps you can add those
faz
Quoted from flyhigh:Someone thought this was a great idea? Cabinet Cooling MOD?
Is that blowing directly on the tilt bob?
Quoted from pinballdork:Awesome!
I'm not a fan of the face art and wanted to see what it could look like if some of the lines were removed. (just on the computer not on PF)
you should sell overlays of this
Quoted from uncivil_engineer:Actually yes, I have a Hurricane I am currently sorting out
I just restored a Hurricane. If you need pics or anything please ask.
Quoted from SUPERBEE:WTF ??? lol How is that supposed to be set up ?
A big ring around those three posts... or maybe one of those cool dollar store bungee cords for extra style points.
Quoted from Colsond3:Trident I picked up. Let's install a credit button! And while we're at it, we can gouge the front of the cabinet. WTF?
That is sooo sexy !!!! lol
Quoted from SUPERBEE:That is sooo sexy !!!! lol
Yeah LOL. Definitely not. Dirty as hell too. Apparently sat in a garage for 12 years untouched. But after some CP 100 and magic eraser.....from mold to gold. Not even a ball trail in the shooter lane. Apron like new.
Quoted from SUPERBEE:CP 100 is the bomb baby !! And so is beer !
Yup, I swear by it. Best stuff ever. CP100 or beer. And I'm still laughing that I can see this thread and Pinside up on your laptop.

Is that pesky outlane causing frustration? Here's a lasting fix that will take care of that permanently.
Oddly the prior owner of this T2 also removed the center save post. So I guess they liked it STDM but not draining out the right. Or maybe they were just doing a bit of on the fly game balance?

Was that game bought down south?
Either way, a shame that they hammered a nail right into the playfield.

Hah! It's a shame as the rest of the machine is in pretty good condition.
That T2 also had the most cringe-worthy Skittles LED job I've ever seen in person: red on one side and green on the other. I can (kind of) understand the left/right color scheme on a game like Pin*bot, but there's so little green on the T2 playfield you have to really search for it!
Quoted from Colsond3:Was that game bought down south?
Really, dude? Can't we just say there are stupid owners out there everywhere? I come to Pinside to escape the tired stereotypes. Thanks for that.

Come on man, it was a simple joke, and I didn't mean any ill will. Two of my good friends live in Plano (I spent some time in Dallas), and we throw Southern and Yankee jokes back and forth all the time. There are stupid owners and people that hack up games everywhere. I would say you actually see more of it on the East Coast.

Hey, watch it now.
Quoted from Travish:Hey, watch it now.
Hey, they're my stomping grounds too. Just being objective.
I just pulled a strange looking switch out of a Rescue 911. Whoever installed it also used wood screws that were too long, so the surface of the playfield split a bit.
The original switch looks like this (but white):

Someone did this exact thing on my SF2.
I'm pretty sure that switch is used for targets in late model Segas: http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/500-6138-01 ; http://www.marcospecialties.com/control/keywordsearch?SEARCH_STRING=500-6138- .
Quoted from Cheddar:Burnt pins on the rectifier board. Don't replace them put in a large inline connector and soldered to the back. The connector is cut both sides from another harness.
Very common... and actually factory in some generations.

Fortunately I have a second nine ball next to.it to verify it in this case. What seems so hacky about this is this repair took way more effort than a correct repair.

Huh, Good to know. I didn't think it was actually pinball part.
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:I also especially like the flipper button mod. Not quite sure what they were trying to accomplish with that one,m but they did it on both sides.
It was an "Aw, screw it!" moment.
That foil appears to be about a 40 amp fuse or so! Does the screw stick out the other side of the flipper button?
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:Someone did this to the Bally Safari I just picked up. I also especially like the flipper button mod. Not quite sure what they were trying to accomplish with that one,m but they did it on both sides.
I assume in Braille, a #6 Philips screw head translates to "flipper button"

That's the shock button. Press it, and it shocks the player. Get shocked too many times, and it triggers a tilt and ends the ball, so choose your moments to flip carefully.
Quoted from merccat:Shop light hanger mod?
The screws on the coil stop in that picture speak of the same attention to detail and fine craftsmanship.
Quoted from merccat:Shop light hanger mod?
That's a good mod, but still qualifies for hack no pre drilling split the PF pretty good, I mean bad.
LOL, yeah... we saved it but sheesh... perhaps more qualified as a "hack" would be the pennies secured to the coil with packing tape.... coil stop anyone?
"We all have our vices. Mine is procrastinating on repairs."
I found a molex made of e-tape the other day, that was entertaining.
Quoted from 80spit:Just got this whirlwind yesterday, this made me laugh, came out of a million dollar home to boot
Out of a million dollar home I would have at least expected Craftsman vice grips, not some cheapy brand.

I believe Irwin manufactures the original Vice-Grip. The Craftsman "Locking Pliers" are a knockoff of the Vice-Grip.

Yeah really, go figure, I was hoping for a real pair of vice grips, pin had no keys, sat for years and had nice fuzzy batteries

It's still a WW. Nice grab.

Thanks for the technical correction. I'm still sticking with Craftsman given the whole lifetime warranty thing...

I also use the Craftsman's. I like the cushioned grips. Not sure if Vice-Grip has those.
EDIT: Irwin also has a lifetime guarantee and does offer Vice-Grips with cushioned handles.

Son of a bitch LOL. Thanks for dropping the knowledge.
Quoted from Colsond3:Son of a bitch LOL. Thanks for dropping the knowledge.
The 10" Inwin's are $24.65. The Craftsman's are about 15 bucks. So we did good. And we both bought our last pair!*
*Until Craftsman changes the warranty. They used to cover tin snips with the lifetime warranty. When they got dull I would take them back for a new pair. And gave them that reason. "They're dull." No problem.
"Dull" not covered by the lifetime warranty any longer.
