Data East Hook coin door circuit "jumper". Stuffed coin door wires into an IDC connector then placed jumper wires from connector to connector. It's hard to imagine the thought process someone pondered and then decided to proceed with this "hack".

That is not a hack but rather a rare piece of artwork by Salvador Dali.

    Quoted from Groucho:

    Hack! I've got one!
Whilst I'm here I'm needing to replace this hack.
I'm needing to replace the flipper assembly bracket for a Williams system 3-6 part #01-600, coil stop #A-8143 and the retaining bracket #01-8-508-3. Not fussed if the coil stop is used. I'd prefer to locate through one source rather than many.
I'm also looking for a complete knocker assembly, part #B-8047, from the same era. Picture below of which knocker assembly is needed.
    Part numbers for the purests
Please pm me if you can assist.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

omg what is with that nasty - NASTY welding? that was done with gas, so it wouldn't have been done on location. my 12 year old has welding skills that would make that repair guy bury his head in the sand.

Simple. If it doesn't stick keep piling more weld on until it does!

As you know many TFTC games don't have the original door handle launch assembly. Mine did however the door handle plunger/switch always acted funny. Anyways... now I know why..

Picked up this Pinbot recently. The head base was a bit messed up. A previous owner decided to include not one, not two, but three interesting aftermarket head clamps. Some shitty washers were also installed to hold the head up! Screwed with - you guessed it - drywall screws. The bracket for one of the clamps is what messed up the wood base! So dumb.

I guess I made some superneard puke off this one lol...in my defense this was just a temporary fix to eliminate that connector in the heat of the diag process lol. Funny thing is these are automotive grade pins and actually make contact on all four sides, better than the chepo ones I reinstalled but look at those swooping loops lol

My ball bowler suffered the same fate. Got it all butt connected back together. Only got 2 wires wrong and luckily it was only lights. that was a pain in the ass.

    Quoted from dasvis:

At least it's a straightforward fix.

It'll be easy to match the wire colors, unlike old ball bowler cloth wires that fade.

Still, getting solder to stick to those old oxidized wires is a PITA. Flux will be needed.

& don't forget to put the shrink wrap on BEFORE you solder it together....... been there, done that....

About a month ago I bought this Getaway. The previous owners needed to bring it downstairs and although they were clearly able to open the back box they didn't understand that they could unplug connectors to take the head off and cut everything. Also an operator at some point soldered some wires directly to the GI header but on the upside put a 3 pin on it so it was easy to disconnect.
The fliptronics board was also a real bad mess but I didn't get a pic before I fixed it.

This is the best repair I've ever seen. I didn't even notice it at first.
Pinbot visor target bracket. The target bank slides up and down in the channels on the far ends.
After taking it off, I realize the far left end has a big missing piece. Somebody fabricated an elegant curved metal bracket, then held it in place with a L bracket. The precision is so good I'm tempted to put it back in!
