No Diamond Plate and Never Cleaned. Rudy is Angry!
FH.jpgFH.jpg

#2 10 years ago

That needs a little TLC!

#3 10 years ago

Rudy actually looks okay, it's the rest of the table that needs work

#4 10 years ago

Hey OP...you know you have a broke sling plastic there....no way I could pay premium $$$'s with that left sling plastic busted.

Hope you bring her back to it former glory..

How do you restore a playfield like that...do you buy a reproduction or do they make an overlay that you put down and then clear over, or how do you do it? Sorry...novice here.

#6 10 years ago

Oh Rudy your so fine but now your worn and out of time. This Funhouse is closed.

#7 10 years ago

Home Use Only….but I can't document it.

#8 10 years ago

A little novus 2 will clean that right up.

Novus 3 then Novus 2 come on man what is this your first day?

#10 10 years ago

#11 10 years ago

You would have to buy a replacement play field. Not cheap though, last one I saw was $900, not impossible to find.

#13 10 years ago

Novus 2!

#15 10 years ago

If you want to sell that thing I will be in Ca on Thurdsay! Thats a perfect restoration candidate!

#16 10 years ago

"l'm not happy with you now"

#17 10 years ago

Magic eraser and Krylon should do the trick.

#18 10 years ago

I'll give you $8,000... ok, $8,500 max. you drive a hard bargain.

#19 10 years ago

10K by Christmas.

#20 10 years ago

sandblast the playfield, clear coat and claim it's white wood -> profit ?

#21 10 years ago

Proving once again that nothing is certain in life except death, taxes and Rudy being creepy.

#22 10 years ago

Get your sharpie out...

#23 10 years ago

You should clear coat it like I have seen people do to patina on an old classic car.

#24 10 years ago

Looks like a fun project.
Definitely keep the PF around as a souvenir.

#25 10 years ago

I think its been played a couple times.

#26 10 years ago

Nothing NJGecko could not bring back from the dead.

#27 10 years ago

Barn find?

#28 10 years ago

That is one worn PF.

#29 10 years ago

different flipper rubbers atleast they tried to maintain it

#30 10 years ago

Wow -- I would guess never cleaned and on location for the better part of its 23 years. That's crazy...

I was thinking little novus, good as new?

#32 10 years ago

This is why those fancy new balls made out of sandpaper didn't catch on.

#33 10 years ago

I am sure all the coins that went into that would have paid for quite a few hot dogs.

#34 10 years ago

That has to be the worst playfield I have ever seen. Talk about a player's game!

#35 10 years ago

Got family here 2013-07-09 18.22.04.jpg2013-07-09 18.22.04.jpg

#36 10 years ago

It always makes me wonder, how many games have been played on it.
what do you guys think ??maybe10k maybe more??

Don't use sharpie! You really need paint pens for this one.

#38 10 years ago

This why you should always wax the playfield. I have seen an Earthshaker on route with this much wear. Sad, really sad.

#39 10 years ago

What stings in my eyes is two different flipper rubber

Please don't tell me it was you who did this....

I remember that "Wonderland Arcade" in Maine bought a FunHouse at launch. Until they closed, it was one of the best FunHouse machines ever kept on location. Rudy looked brilliant, the displays weren't damaged at all, and it was in just beautiful condition for a game that was 13 years old at the time. The best aspect of it was the play field - no wear at all, it could've been Day 1 Mylar if I don't say so myself! Too bad it had to close.

#41 10 years ago

Is the game for sale ?

#42 10 years ago

Little better than the one on Ebay right now . Be fair warned i seen this in person about 6 months ago ,its in a kids arcade in Lake Park Florida . I offered the guy $500 and he basically thought it was worth $2500. It is most beat up Funhouse i have ever seen. Zoom in on the 1 picture he has and will see major playfield wear , cabinet is shit and Rudy kept saying have a hot dog over &over again. If you can get it for some spare parts for your Funhouse ,that is about all its good for . Just thought i would mention about this machine so no one gets burned.

#43 10 years ago

That is DEFINITELY the sign of a great game IMHO!

The spare parts cleaned up are worth a lot more but then again, you have to be willing to put in the work to part it.

Our old Funhouse looked just like that. It payed for itself over, and over, and over...

I've heard stories of some TAF's getting 200,000+ plays,

While it's possible this funhouse is in the 100,000+ range, more than likely someone didn't change the ball out for years. A little pitting to the ball, and it will act like a mini sander.

Funny stuff here and some good ideas too...gonna keep it as a long-term restore project.
If any Playfields in SoCal are available, please PM me. Might take a year or longer to complete, but looking forward to the challenge.
When I showed the Operator the pin, he said "Damn, I must of made a lot of money off that thing!"

Not a barn, but a warehouse find...
