It's a long story but I ended up with an HUO WPT from the Allentown show. Stunner. Cannot wait to dig into it!

Mirrors on this game are something else.

Super easy to find key fobs for this game.

Quoted from C_S_S:

Are there any specific areas I should look at on the play field before picking up a WPT?

Off the top of my head - the left and right inlanes for where the ball drops from the rails, the condition of the upper playfield, area inside the pops, ensure that the drops are not too scuffed up if the "washer fix" hasn't been performed, make sure all the optics work and the stoppers on both the left and right ramps (and that the ball smoothly hits and goes through the physical switches). Also make sure the VUK in the back left (Cut the cards) grabs the ball and also pushes it onto the upper playfield. Make sure the Ace in the Hole cage operates as it should.

There's also a real chance for insert lifting due to heat for all of the card drops as well as the cities.

Quoted from Codeman00:

With the open playfield and challenging game structure, I still can't understand why this pin doesn't get more credit. I guess there a lot of people that aren't poker fans.

Honestly I like poker themed pinball and pool themed pinball. It just feels like a natural mix, and WPT seems like the ultimate poker/pinball integration. It is superb.

Quoted from prl867:

Funny you mention that. The guy I bought it from said he’d buy it back from me for same price I paid for the next 3 years so long as condition stays good and that I promise to NEVER INSTALL MIRROR BLADES.
I almost spit my CocaCola out from laughing so hard. He HATES mirror blades and says that they break and get constantly scratched when you need to lift the play field.

You should buy some then because they look great on this game.

I think I got my blades there.

And I think the ColoDMD is quite worth it. I put it on every game I own. They did a great job with this one.

Also LED OCD is wonderful on World Poker Tour.

Quoted from prl867:

Thanks! I checked out that site. Had the $110 blades in my cart and went to check out via PayPal when I saw the $32 shipping. Ouch. I’ll wait for Marco to get them back in stock. Just on principle I can’t pay $32 in shipping.
Yeah, I think I’m sold on getting the discounted colour dmd installation.
It already has super bright LED’s.
I do hope to see an alternate translite made that I like eventually but I’m not holding my breath. At least Courtney looks good.

Sorry I wasn't clear, the LED OCD board is an add on board that keeps the LED's from strobing, and also gives them a nice fade effect as opposed to ON/OFF. It's worth it.

The only reason I remember Courtney Friel, other than this game.

If the alternative is to have that translite with the two cards ogling the queen with someone holding her cans... I'll take the original.

Quoted from boagman:

There are other alternatives. Honestly, I haven't yet seen one that I like, but that doesn't make me appreciate the original any more...it's still an abomination. It's just that the alternatives aren't good enough to warrant the change.

Yeah I think that's actually true.
