I think I'll do another along the lines of your idea QSS, as I had thought about that myself. This one was kind of sticking to the theme of the original (plus I like looking at Courtney). Any more ideas anyone?....

Yes please Uncle_Nudge.
I've played allot of poker in Vegas over the last 8 years and I've always had a good laugh at guys who go ballistic and throw chips and chuck cards. I remember being in the Bellagio a few years back and there was one guy who was so pissed at the dealer over this one particular hand. He proceeded to win the very next hand. He then took the $1 tip (that is regularly given to dealers by a player who wins a pot) and he fired that one dollar chip clear across the poker room. That damn chip must have flown 100 feet and miraculously didn't hit anyone on it's journey into the wild blue yonder of the Bellagio Poker Room. The dealer was all pro and responded to this player with a "thank you, thank you very much". I pissed myself laughing.
So another extreme idea for a back glass would be some guy going nuts over a pile of chips he just lost in a bad beat. That would be hilarious as we've all been crushed by some pretty sick bad beats.

This is what I came up with... kind of a combination. The King and Queen in background are a nod to the side rear of WPT cabinet. The trophy with money, Bellagio, the TV set and Courtney. Seems like a nice combo... I guess Mike and Vince will have to sit this one out.... Any suggestions for tweaks???wpt_alternate_translite.jpg
You've put together some creative WPT alternate designs, but this one seems a bit too busy (too many layers and too many elements).
Also, while an attractive woman is always a plus, one in a t-shirt and jeans doesn't really convey world class poker to me.
I think my ideal WPT alternate would be one that emphasizes basic poker elements such as cards and chips surrounding a tastefully done, elegantly dressed beautiful woman in a playful pose with a muted yet colorful background - perhaps a simplistic montage of casino/city icons from around the world.
I have V14.0 and pretty positive that was the final. If anyone doesn't have it, you need it!
I'll tweak some more and see what happens... I appreciate the feedback! Having had WPT for ten years now, I'm somewhat concentrating on a translite that has a pretty Courtney on it. I've looked at that stock one for ten years too long... I still enjoy her quips and poker corner chat.
A more generic one without her I will also probably do, but not as of yet... but I definitely have some ideas!... but keep those ideas coming please.
Quoted from Uncle_Nudge:I agree, way too busy on my last one... how about this one...

I like this one allot.
Can you do up one for me that has The Bellagio, Courtney, a trophy and cash and this image....

I think this image is hilarious and I would be proud to have it on my machine.

I don't follow the WPT at all. Do any of the people that do the callouts on the pin still work for the TV show?

The main announcers - Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten have been there since day one.

I just looked both guys up, and was surprised to read that Vince Van Patten is Dick Van Patten's son. You learn something new every day.

I personally find the ones with the model or hostess or whatever to be a bit eh (stock included). I'd like to have a more classy poker-themed translite, rather than something based off the show.

Fair enough, although the pin itself (including the callouts) *is* based on the show...

To people who don't know the show (all my friends and family) it just seems like a generic poker theme, though, so might as well go with a translite that follows the timeless poker theme rather than the trendy show license.
Quoted from Astropin:I'm fine with the original....it's really not that bad.
Yeah, I've said it before as well, as it looks worse until you have it in your home, but I'm totally fine with it.
Quoted from WaddleJrJr:Just whipped this together really quick. I rushed it a bit so it's not as clean as it could be, but I'm interested in knowing what you guys think. I'm in no way an artist, so I really can't speak for whether or not this is any good.

I like this one best. However, I think it's unbalanced. You have the chip stack on the right side, the deck of cards on the right side and the WPT logo on the right side. It makes the image right side heavy. You need to move the chips/cards to the left or the WPT logo to the left to balance it. I like this once best next to chill's version though. Maybe a red felted table would work better too?

I've thought about how the left side is empty. I was hoping to find that texture used towards the back of the cabinet with the outline of the cards, and then I could layer that on there. It would add some activity to the left of the translite, and would make that translite image blend with the current cabinet art better.
Also putting the WPT logo on the chips, maybe, because those tops feel a little empty, and IIRC the WPT uses chips that have the logo on them.
Not sure if I'll ever finish this project (especially since my WPT will be moving out very soon), but if I get a chance I wouldn't mind completing it.
Quoted from Tuna_Delight:Now that I've played a good number of games on my WPT, I've noticed that the best Texas Hold 'Em hand I've gotten is a full house and these seem to be pretty rare.
Is there a setting that I may have missed that controls the frequency of higher value hands?
I've always wondered if it's completely random, and if the odds are true to what you would be dealt in a game of five card stud. If this is the case, anything greater than a full house would be extremely rare. The chances of being dealt a full house are 693. The odds of being dealt four of a kind are 4,164.
Only tangentially related, so forgive me but I played a game of Champion Pub the other day and had it's little poker mini game deal me a royal flush. No cards exchanged or anything. Kinda just stared in disbelief for a second.
The hole cards are biased towards "interesting" combinations. The board is random. So the odds are slightly increased in your favor of better hands but only through the hole cards. I don't remember exactly but it's something like
20% pair (the pair is random)
20% suited connector (which connectors are random)
20% unsuited connector
20% suited nonconnectors (not sure, but this might be just 2 suited cards and if they wind up being connectors, then great)
20% garbage (I think could accidentally be something else by luck)

WPT's main hand is 7 card stud, not 5 card. Odds of a FH in this case are only 1:37.5

LOL! Of course it's 7 card stud. I gotta lay off the drugs ...

Thanks for this info. So apparently, it is what it is (no adjusting frequency of higher hands).
Ah well - guess I'll just have to keep playing away to see a four of a kind or straight/royal flush!

Yea I agree, those people are not very recognizable.
Congrats! One less person in the PHL area looking for one... hopefully the next one is me!
Quoted from cyroute:Joined the WPT club today thanks to little shop of games and Curly shipping this very nice HUO pin!!!
I have my WPT sitting next to Metallica Pro. It ended up looking downright dark in there, even with LED's. I decided to add two spotlights on the slings, and man what a difference. The center display looks a little washed out from the picture, but it's still plenty bright.
Easy mod if anyone is looking to brighten up the center playfield.
20150508_205208.jpgNever had to work on a newer Stern before... my switch 52 "right ramp made" opto is not working... sure doesn't look to get to... i put in switch mode (no error message for this) and i can not manually trip switch with finger... ideas? Of all the switches to fail this is kind of one of the most important switches...d'ohh
Also, how do you get to this KI wizard mode... I've read through the posts and didn't see anyone actually say how this is actually achieved...
Thanks
Dan

Did you try cleaning the opto?

Also is it glowing red? If not something might be wrong with the switch itself or it has a wire broken off.

Check the instant info. There's a long list of stuff you need to qualify it. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/keefer-invitational-how-to-get-there
Joined the WPT club!
Took off the left orbit gate, turned off flop/turn post, replaced some drop target optos... the machine is now running in fine form.
Had my first solid game on it tonight after reading some rules tips around here. Got some multiballs stacked, got poker hands multiball for the first time and put up 87m. Onward and upward.
Loving the layout, the long satisfying shots, the amount of modes and purposeful rules. The triple scoring shot is a rush, great feature. Couldn't be happier so far, underrated and undervalued machine.
