Does anyone know where I can get the decals or scans for the shooter lane VUK?

Here's the whole set.

Was the mounting screws for your VKU hitting the side rails and causing the top of the VKU tub to hit the glass?

The welds on the VUK had broken and I was worried about removing them before welding. I wanted to have a backup plan if they got ruined.
It worked out great though, so no need for the decals anymore.

Hey HankScorpio - how much for shipping to the UK - very interested in this...

So... not in the same ilk whatsoever, but couldn't find anything I wanted on the instruction card front...

I have a bunch of $1 casino chips from different casinos that I’m using instead of instruction cards.
I have ones from Aruba, Vegas and Atlantic City. I need one from Bahamas, Los Angeles and Paris to have one from all the places in the game.

That's super cool, and they fit perfectly! Did you collect these yourself from the actual casinos, or buy them online?

I bought the Aruba and Bally’s Atlantic City ones off eBay, the rest I got from the casinos.

Sorry little tech help here from the U.K. - I have a flakey drop target bank opto which when switched was still intermittent (fine in Test, game on, triple reset on bank, back in Test it was gone) going to replace the SMT4148 with a pin through hole one providing I can get it on (if not maybe use a tool to create a hole through the trace, we will see...)

Anyone know the MA and V rating.

I will swap boards before this to check it’s not a wiring issue.

#813 5 years ago

I'm also looking for some tech help... My WPT recently stopped registering switches in the upper portion of the playfeild.

Both ball lock VUK's
Ace in the hole gates optos & switches
Both ramp optos and switches

Not sure where to start...

Since you have many problems, and with both opto and non-opto switches, it is likely to be a broken connection. Get a manual, or at least the switch matrix page from the one on IPDB. Print a copy (ideally) and mark all of the bad switches. Look for a break in the common wire (it's probably just one).

A good place to check would be to make sure the switch header to the computer hasn't had a wire pop out.

If the problem isn't immediately obvious on a visual inspection (and I wouldn't expect to get that lucky), a multimeter on a continuity setting would be a helpful tool.

Picked up a WPT last week. I would like to thank HankScorpio for the translite. I reached out to him for one before I had the game home and it came in very quickly. It is a big improvement over the standard.
I have one little part to fix on the auto plunger and this one will be just right.

You’re right. What’s behind the other sets of drops?

#824 5 years ago
Quoted from chubtoad13:

You’re right. What’s behind the other sets of drops?

The other drops have wireforms behind them. I assume the aluminum L was added to ensure a ball couldn't hop over a wireform and get trapped, but there are three holes that look like they could be for posts. I think I'm going to try putting three posts there and see how that works. I think the posts could cause the ball to bounce erratically when hit instead of just SDTM everytime.

There's currently a seller on ebay offering 4 alternative translites (1 mil white mylar) for $105 shipped. Each one is pretty cool. I have no affiliation with them but expect to buy one soon for my wpt.

My wpt has under 250 total plays on it.

Anyone try to download new game code from stern for WPT lately? I'm getting a 404 NOT FOUND error. I tried monopoly too just for the heck of it and got the same error. Maybe all the older games aren't supported now?

Maybe shoot an email to their support mail address. Their new site might has some bugs still.

Can the "total plays" be reset? I bought a WPT with 240 plays. It is mint and even has the rubber band mod on the outlanes that you'd see in an HUO non-pinballer situation. How can I be sure that the game really has only 240 plays? It has code V14.0

thanks!

I did and got this reply... Hello Donald,

We are in the process of getting our new website up and running. Not sure why the code isn’t available just yet. I will inform them that it should be looked at.

2 days later and still can't download code. Says... "NOT FOUND"

Total plays reset when you remove the batteries or update the code. Unless there were zero games played before V14.0 was installed, it has more than 240 plays.
There may be an option to reset total games in the audits menu as well, but I’m not positive.

WPT is a fun game to mod! Today, I put the OCD LED board in and was astounded at the difference. Before, the comet LEDs flickered and didn't fade at all. And, they were really a tad too bright. With the OCD, the light show is perfect again! The lights fade, pulse and flutter again. They aren't so piercingly bright now either.

I was going to install my new speaker lights with my new flipper fidelity speakers but found out the speakers have this thick cardboard ring glued on to the speakers that make using them with speaker lights impossible. Bummer! So, it was either the speaker lights OR the new speakers... not both. I chose the speaker lights and will order another pair of 4+ speakers from amazon without those annoying cardboard rings.

Alternate translite is on the way.

I'm close to pulling the trigger on a color dmd. What do you guys think? Is it worth $430 shipped?

My SAM Speaker Light Kits will work fine with the upgraded speakers that have the spacer rings on them. I include the longer screws needed for this mounting setup with all of my Type 7 (for WPT) Speaker Light Kits. Here is a picture to demonstrate how they mount. SEE ATTACHMENTS The spacer ring just sits on top on the light frame. If you are having issues with it staying in place...simply spring the light frame walls in a bit so it sits firmly on top.

Doug thanks. I love the speaker lights. I have them in 2 games so far. They're easy to install and make a huge difference in the look of a game.

I agree with you about the audio controller... it's too touchy to work. Any nearby game sound triggers the signal and it basically randomly flashes continuously. Total waste of $10.

I'm glad you like the Speaker Light Kits. As for the RGB sound controllers....I think I'm pretty honest about my opinion on them on my website.

http://www.speakerlightkits.com/Use-of-Sound-Activated-RGB-Controller.html

I didn't sell the sound controllers on my website for a long time, but when I see others selling their knock off speaker light kits with the sound controllers for double my price and people actually buying them because they think the sound controller seems cool...I figured I might as well give those people a cheaper option so they can check it out themselves at a more reasonable price.

Has anyone flame polished the upper playfield area to good success? Don't want to try it if it doesn't like it.

My upper, clear playfield was pretty dirty when I got my game so I just ordered a new one. I think it was only $70 ish so I figured it wasn't worth wasting my time trying to clean up the old one. The new one is crystal clear and looks awesome.

Anyone have a WPT playfield rubber placement diagram they could share with me. The Game Room Guys rubber ring kit did not come with one and I do not see it in the manual I have.

Better late than never, I suppose -- http://ty-ffasi.com/wp-content/uploads/WorldPokerTourManual.pdf page 61.

SternPinball.com used to have really good copies of the manuals in PDF. They were even in color when the printed copies aren't! Now they're gone, but I had a cached copy of this one, so I put it up somewhere else.

Hopefully Stern will eventually fix their web site. It used to have all their service bulletins and great documentation.

Tech question. The ace in the hole gate when I turn on the pin goes up and down continuously, any ideas

#846 5 years ago
Quoted from mikekemp:

The ace in the hole gate when I turn on the pin goes up and down continuously

Put the game in switch test and make sure both of the optos in the Ace in the Hole jail trigger correctly. My guess is that they aren't doing so, and one of them is blocked. Get some Novus #2 and clean the upper playfield under the optos. (The optos could also have broken connections or more exotic problems, but I suspect it's dirt on the playfield.)

possibly just misaligned plunger in the coil sleeve? looking at the assembly (page 80) possibly needs a new coil sleeve or new nylon tip plunger. maybe the spring has failed?

Have you tested manually sliding the plunger up and down?

Update on my WPT. finally got it to stop the triple pulse. Had to replace 3 of the four bank opto boards. I also I'm starting to really like this machine now. I'm finally getting to play, and have it perform they way it supposed to.
