Not really, that wheel is under the playfield and makes contact when the wheel spins and awards a cart number on the ferris wheel. It dropped off into the bottom of the box and now whenever I try to hook it back up the awards never match up. I may just need to try every spot until it's right.
In my experience unless you mark the 'relevant spots' on the stepper, wheel & wheel retainer before disassembly it is tricky to get an approximate location & then to fine tune the spot. So yes probably a bit of trial & error. An alternative may be to do a trace on the stepper rivets to identify a number & then get alignment with that number on the spin wheel.
