Looks like its mounted with a rivet? How would one remove and reattach it to the new plastic without rivet tools? The signs metal base has still an old piece of the header plastic attached to it.

I think for the striker sign, using a screw would work just as well. I also replaced the right sling shot plastic, and using screws to reattach the metal guide caused the ball to get stuck, so I went with the cheapo rivets instead.

+1 on re-seating your ribbon cables. I recently had a mounting number of weird issues with my STTNG (including symptoms that I attributed to weak power) and in the end it turned out to be related to the ribbon cables. Just pull each connector off and on three times and see if that helps.
