Got my cheap ass version of Pinstadium installed this evening. What an amazing difference. You can make 2 sets for about $24 plus whatever wire/connectors you use. I used 5v LED strips and tapped into connector 117, pins 3 and 4.

Nice work.
Could you show me link from this "light" version?

I will make up a DIY for the next one I do and post it here...it is pretty simple, although locating the same materials I used will be slightly trickier outside the USA.

It look sweet! I'm having a hard time finding the right L-channel, which one are you using?
TIA!

I used two of these 3 footers this time, and painted them semi-gloss black. They also sell this in 8' at my local Lowes. You are looking for 1/2 x 1/2 aluminum. I also used 1/2" magnetic tape in 3 places on this set...it works nicely, and is black so it blends in.

And I used these 5v lights. If you get the 12v ones, you will need to find a 12v DC source to tap.

Which ramp is needed to be remade the most right now? Bottom left side? I may be able to start working on this since Starship never got in gear.

Quoted from provato:

Hi, I too joined the club a few months ago, and now I'm in the "shopping" process.
I have a question for those of you who have an unshopped, untouched factory WCS (player's condition)
are these two machine screws shown in the picture with red arrows 4008-01168-10 (5/8 inch long) OR 4008-01168-08 (1/2 inch long)??
[quoted image]

I'm guessing it's 1/2 inch... The screw doesn't have a lot to get through before it threads into the standoff. Mine currently has the wrong screw in it.

Quoted from RatShack:

It only spins counter-clockwise during the finals against Germany.
The ball direction tests are in the solenoid test menu. The motor is controlled by a bi-directional driver board, so no gears/switches to worry about.

It will also stop and spin CCW during ball search.

The bump is probably due to worn metal ball guides. That is the piece the ball rides on before it gets to the flipper. You may be able to loosen the screw holding the ball guide nearest to the flipper (on the top of the playfield) and push that guide a bit in either direction and then retighten. If it is really bad, you can smooth the wear out with a file and then egg the hole out a tad with a Dremel to allow some more adjustment.

Gah! Brain fart, I forgot WCS doesn't have the typical ball guides on it.

Dumb question....am I missing something? Both flippers are dead when I start a game. Fuses are good and there is no message about the coin door being open.??

#4426 5 years ago

No work lately... Looks like the coils have voltage and neither flipper optos register in the switch edge test. I'll have to investigate farther tomorrow.

#4429 5 years ago

Fixed... When I went to pull the one fuse on the opto board to meter it, the end came off it. So I replaced it and now everything works. Thanks!
