If anyone has a lead on a nice WCS available for sale shoot me a PM. WCS has been on my wishlist longer than any other pin, and it's time.....

Just in case any of y’all are considering replacing that old, discolored WMS translite with a new CPR mirrored backglass: Do it......Do it now!!!!

Quoted from smiley:

before incandescent, after cool white frosted
[quoted image][quoted image]

Quoted from Ceckitti:

Is that the same translight? If so you got me sold.

Mine had the cool white frosted LEDs, but my translite was so discolored it didn't matter. The before and after pic I posted above was 5 minutes apart, with the same LEDs in the backbox.

Quoted from GCS2000:

Anyone ever done the lighted speaker panel mod on this game?

Check out post 5786 above....

#5798 3 years ago
Quoted from GCS2000:

I assume this is the one from lightedpinballmods?
Are you happy with it and how did the install go?
TIA

It was already installed on the pin when I got it. I think it looks good, the only slight nit to pick on it for me is the lighted panel doesn't quite lineup with the front printed part, mainly around the speaker grills. You can see it in the pic.

#5801 3 years ago
Quoted from parsonsaj:

That can apparently be fixed but I never got around to doing it.

I tried moving the front faceplate with no avails the cutouts can't be centered any better. I also tried some black tape, but it looked worse and removed it.

Quoted from InsideOutlane:

At the risk of someone finding it sacrilegious: Has anyone replaced (or considered replacing) the rollover targets with the classic "star" rollover buttons? How hard would it be to do as a reversible modification?
I know that the hard-edged buttons and their effect on the movement of the ball are just "part of the game," but I'm still interested in how it would play differently. Undoubtedly they would be a bit harder to trigger, as the ball would have to roll directly over it.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

I don’t think it’s possible. The place for the star rollover is cut into the playfield.

Quoted from InsideOutlane:

It looks like this style might work, potentially with some sort of modifications.

Also, on an unrelated note: how do you like your NBA Fastbreak, and how would you compare/contrast it to WCS?

I've got both of that downstairs right now, including my WCS play field on a rotisserie. Let me check the fit and get back to y'all after lunch....

Quoted from AUKraut:

OK, checked things out and they are the same diameter, however a couple of things to keep in mind:

1) The edge of the installed insert is covered with the black paint around the insert

2) Star rollover inserts are designed to rest on a routed ledge on the inside of the cutout. Looking at the factory WCS rollover insert I don't know if that is there.

Is it doable?? Looks to be....would I do it on mine? No...

Quoted from DBUM:

These are the two screws in looking for. They go through the plastic into the mini playfield.[quoted image]

#4x1/2" bugel head wood screws, same ones used for the ramps at the ramp flaps.

Quoted from Boosterfive:

Thanks!
Does WCS use the same type of flasher bulb for all flashers?

No, some 89, some 906.

Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:

That’s a beautiful looking WCS, must play lightning fast!!! Is that painted gold or powdercoating?

Thanks, the armor is powdercoated. Been a nice project: cabinet corners fixed, new cabinet decals, new ramps, CPR Backglass, playfield brass replated, Cliffys installed. Game was decent when I bought it, had Color DMD, Comet LEDs, new CPR plastics, backlit speaker surround. Just needed some TLC to put if over the top!

Quoted from IN_Pins:

Looks fantastic! The translite seems to have really rich color. Would you say it's different from the original or is that just the contrast on these photos? Also I've never seen a backlit speaker panel. Looks great here. Is that a kit from someone?

Here are is a before and after pic, comparing the original faded translite and the CPR backglass, taken 5 minutes apart. Same bulbs, same everything. Pictures say it all..

I've got several WCS parts leftover from my refurbishing my pin. Ad is listed at: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/103954

#6088 3 years ago
Quoted from kdoggity:

All - new owner, and new to Pins in general. Absolutely love the game, but wanting to take my soccer ball off for the first time. I removed the top screw, but it’s relatively hard to pull the ball up/off. Is that OK, and do I just need to apply more force to get it off?

It's a press fit. After the screw is off start by working it up around the bottom edge.

Quoted from misterhare:

Full disclosure that this came with the machine. But you might find some relics on ebay too.

Wait, I'm confused...you found the pin at a yard sale??? If so.....do tell!

Quoted from Ceckitti:

Cool keychain!
Im Always on the lookout for WC94 memorabilia to add to my game. Some of that stuff gets pretty pricey. Best I have so far is a Striker plush for the top and a uncirculated coin that im going to add to the "coin toss" skill shot.

Got to have the ball:

Got my tickets from WC94 framed (still in the protective wrapper) a little while ago to sit next to the Official Adidas ball as a topper...once I get the pin into it's final place!

Thanks all! Will order a protector this week!
One more question. Where does everyone buy replacement balls? Mine are starting to show some signs of aging.

Ball Baron. You want the Polaris version as their is a magnet in use on WCS:

Quoted from r_geezy:

I have a newb question. I am a new WCS owner and I am used to some 'ball save' time during multiball. Is there a setting I can adjust so that if I drain early in multiball those will be saved?

Nope, no multiball ballsave setting....

What else do you think it might be?

Could be the trough registering a ball drain with a faulty switch.

Can anyone please photograph the top and underside of the metal brackets that sit above the 2 lower scoops? The bolts I have don’t fit and also don’t line up with the purple plastic parts underneath. Over 200 photos and that I have no picture of

Hope these help......

Thanks, they do a little but I need to see under the playfield as well so I can get the right nuts on the bottom

Sorry, the pin is over at our league location, don't have access to take any pics right now..........

Quoted from jk:

Recieved my WCS94 CPR playfield today and it’s a beauty! The only thing that looks different is the color of the skin tone. Not sure if this is due the new digital print process compared to silkscreening. The photos of the playfield on CPR’s website look like they have the correct tone. Anyways I’m happy they made them as it’s a well needed playfield. Nice used ones or Nos ones were near impossible to find. Thanks again CPR!
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Wowza.....looks like a bad case of Jaundice!!! I hope CPR corrects that!!
