Mine does, but only on a slow rolling ball that would go SDTM (say off a carom off one of the sides a third of the way up, or during multiball when two balls collide near the flippers).

I tried to do what you're talking about and it worked fairly well- I used red colored post sleeves for the goal, blue sleeves and lights for the ramps, my pops are teal, and white for the light under the spinner. I then color matched the lightning bolts.
He must mean the extra ball button above where it says 'coin toss' on the front.
