I'm SO excited! I get mine delivered next Wednesday! Cliffys, invisiglass, and color DMD are first on my list.

Quoted from ktownhero:

I did Cliffy's & Mantis protectors on all of my scoops, might want to consider that depending on how worn they are. The Mantis protectors are pretty inexpensive but they really protect the hole and also keep a perfect circle for consistent results when the ball is kicked out.
The Cliffy carbon fiber protectors look cool and are great for covering up some wear, but they don't actually protect the scoop itself all that much. Just the art around it.

Thank you for the insight I truly appreciate it!

Quoted from Eryeal:

Sorry, my definition of recently is more like in the past 12-24 months in terms of life of the pin. I wasn't talking like in the last 8 weeks. I think just about every pin value has dropped recently in the past few months. I still say games like WCS and NGG, time proven classics that consistently top the value/fun charts, stand the most chance of still increasing in value. It wouldn't surprise me to see NGG become a $4k game in the next 1-2 years, and WCS near $3k.
And as a disclaimer, this isn't cheerleading - I want a NGG and have never had one, and I recently sold my WCS. I have no vested interest in seeing any of these machines go up.

You can't really find a nice WCS right now for under 3k. Been looking A LOT. I think pinsides avg prices are a bit lower

Ooo I didn't realize they had updated the page itself. Damn, that looks great.

Definitely on my list of eventual upgrades for sure.

Just ordered my cliffys, mantis protectors, and LED colordmd! Any other must haves?

#5398 4 years ago
Quoted from ktownhero:

The standard Cliffy set doesn't include slot protectors for where the ball drops to the inlanes -- I would get a pair of those as well and add them under the ramp drops.

Where can I get those at?

Got my color DMD in. Have new plastics, titans cliffy and mantis protectors to install. Right flipper is weak but both are brand new, so maybe clean the flipper opto?

Quoted from matiou:

Yep! Cleaning the flipper opto is a really easy and non intrusive job and it can give surprisingly good results!

Cleaned it and it seems to be much better. It was would hardly make it to the goalie and now it seems to rip. I want super snappy flippers!

I'm getting ready to do my first full shop and I've just been making myself really familiar with the play field. I noticed the vuk light is mounted oddly but it looks like it wasn't messed with or completely stock if that makes sense. Can anyone else show me theirs or tell me what is wrong with mine LOL?

Got a new bendable red LED from comet for the VUK so it looks more natural and not a big hole, and some new pop bumper ring LEDs as well. Huge upgrade!

Quoted from eharan:

Can you let me know the part numbers for those upgrades you did. I was just on Comets site and couldn’t find them. Thanks!

https://www.cometpinball.com/products/pop-bumper-rings (with these I got the teal/cool white combo)

https://www.cometpinball.com/products/quick-connects (red frosted wedge)

I really can't state how good the pop bumpers look in person. Pictures don't do it justice.

Quoted from Zzap:

That 3rd pop bumper is a pain to get to under the ramp isn't it!

I tried for like 5 minutes with my flexible screwdriver and gave up. I'm doing a full top end shop tomorrow night so I'll get it then.

I just recently finished a full shop job on My World Cup soccer. I noticed the flashers were not working, so I replaced the fuse, reseated all of the connections, and ran a test. The flashers were very weak and then after running the test about 10 times, each time they got weaker and weaker and would eventually not flash at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Quoted from Kevlar51:

Take a look behind your coin door switch and make sure everything is plugged in properly.

Can I say I love you? That was it! . Thank you!

What screws am I missing here? Also what size screws do the ramp brackets take?

Trading my baby for a HUO Star Trek Pro in Thursday. Gonna miss having it, but excited to switch it up for a bit.

Much better choice than Munsters. Well done.

Hahaha thanks! I agree. I'm really excited to get to dive into a more modern game.
