We (jr and I) made a custom topper for our WCS '94 and I thought I'd share. Nothing earth shattering, and it may have been done before but here it is. It is one of his favorite games, and I am thrilled it gives us something to do together. I probably should have cut straight to the chase, but it is shown after a short intro and is at the :15 mark.

Nice work. Is your Color DMD the LCD or LED version?

I’m very interested in getting a Color DMD for WCS94 but I am on the fence about an LCD or LED version. I currently have a Doctor Who with the LCD so I’m slightly leaning towards LED to see the differences. Would love to hear any input and also for those that went LCD, did it require an additional work like was required for Doctor Who?

So while researching a Color DMD this thread has given me inspiration to get a topper. So here it is and it comes with a remote and power cord for around $21. It also displays different colors.
Now I need to pull the machine out to get it on top.

Thanks for everyone’s input on the Color DMD. Decided to go with LED since I already have one LCD. Ordered today and it is already marked shipped, very fast service!

The last two times I played WCS94 I was having issues with the DMD. I had already wanted to upgrade to a ColorDMD so I didn’t mess with it and switched it out to a LED ColorDMD. I then updated the firmware to get full color.
The new DMD now goes in and out of color and doesn’t have a clear display.
I tried reseating the ribbon cable with no luck. I’m going to get a spare ribbon cable tomorrow from a friend to try. I’m attaching a photo showing how the original DMD looked and how the ColorDMD looks. I’m not sure if I can do anything more until I try the new cable tomorrow but thought it couldn’t hurt to ask for input here as well.

Fixed it. Reseated all connections to the DMD controller board and that fixed it.

Lol. I have Doctor Who and WCS94. I played WCS94 for the first time when I bought my Doctor Who and had to have it too. Plus the dog on the back glass reminds me of Underdog!
