hello guys!
I've just picked up a wcs94.
it's planned to be located in a children hospital for our charity project.
it's currently under hard testing by my 3 kids and I'm troubleshooting.
everything is now OK except 1 last point.
f904 keeps blowing from time to time.
the lock magnet works perfectly well then after few plays, fuse burns.
I did not find the reason why..
the initial fuse was a 5A so overfused but it was working for dozen of plays.

would anyone point me some ways to sort out the issue ?

other than that, that's really a well-packaged and fun pinball. glad to have this one at home and can't wait to place it in the hospital!!

f904 is lock magnet

#5001 5 years ago

may be,can anyone confirm the reality versus the manual ??

lock magnet was not working, but flipper was.
f904 was burnt. I've changed it, lock magnet was back until it burns again few plays later.

f904 seems lock magnet

#5009 5 years ago

Thanks for confirming
starting from the time i've posted this, the fuse has not blown again.
resistance of both magnets are similar (4.7 Oh), so it must have been a bad fuse
I've cleaned the support, the connectors.. i'll post again if issue arise again

The pinball will shortly move to the hospital, but i have one question remaining.
I think the hole protector is a must have, but do you recommend the whole kit with goal protector ..

in addition, i've seen playfield protectors, does anyone have experience to share about this, how does it affect gameplay, is it compatible with hole protectors.
The machine will take 100-140 games per day so i think some protection might be useful ^^

OK, i'll think about that..
any xp with play field protector?

magnet lock is grabbing the ball correctly when rolling slowly from left ramp, but not catching the fast paced ball from right ramp...
any fix ??

Without raising the play field, you can just check in the coil debug menu.
One item is called ball turn right.
If it turns left..just put red wire on black wire and vice versa

Hi folks,

I need to visit the place where I've place my WCS 94 for our charity project (Strasbourg's Hospital, France) as they managed to tear off the ball launcher.

I have no replacement now, do you think that I can get the ball launcher from my Mousin Around to replace temporary ? (sys 11b)

Thanks

yes, plunger with the tip, springs

Thanks.
Will give a try and a feedback !
Have a good day

And YES !
I've put the mousin around launcher, the wcs spring was laying inside and the machine is working again.
Children and their parents will enjoy again a pinball game while waiting the doc !

Hi, I would like to share with you our current fundraising to purchase brand new pinball machines for our local Children's Hospital, they would replace the actual machines I've placed with my wife.
Share the love and don't hesitate to PM me for details :

Hello,
For our charity project, we have used my own wcs94 for a while. Now, it's back at home and I've got an issue.
The opto from the TV show seems to activate themselves from time to time. I can hear a coil activating regularly. But the opto are also working fine when a ball enters.
I guess it's this opto as when I lock a ball with the magnet and get a second ball, I often have the multiball launching by itself, as if I've entered the TV show.

Any suggestions, as cleaning them did not fix?
Changing them?
Issue on board?

Thanks

Quoted from jetmechinnc:

Have you tried moving the optos and wiggling wires with the playfield up and in switch test mode?? If it activates randomly, sound like it may be making and breaking contact. Possibly just need to adjust or tighten screws and make sure they are aiming correctly. Or if while shaking the wires in switch test mode, you may find a cold solder joint?
That’s where I would start.

I've removed, cleaned and aligned them.
Will try twitching wiring a bit in test mode..

Hello,

I just got back my WCS94 from a friend. He told me a found the flipper to be quite weak.
In fact, I had not played that much on this one, so I don't have so much experience on the power that is needed.
I manage to reach the final from time to time, but in fact, theyr are indeed not so much juicy.
Cradled ball will never complete a ramp shot. I always need some velocity to shoot to goal or to do ramps.
In test mode, everything seems normal as I can ear coils activations on hold and flipper are moving well on activation.
Mechanics seems also good, no friction or issue that I can detecte at this level.
EOS are ok, even if not necessary in this generation
I've cleaned the opto U-shaped

Any comments ? Am I looking for something unrealistic, like going a full ramp shot from a cradled ball on both directions?

#6078 3 years ago
Quoted from Boosterfive:

You absolutely should be able to do this. You should be able to roll up all ramps, and make a goal from a cradled ball.

OK, as i manage to beat Germany at 2.5B, I was thinking it was OK, but I definitively can't shoot as said.
What would be my first option, as both are weak?
All other mech are working fine. Is there a testing point to reach in order to verify my voltage? Or fliptronic boards are the way to go?
