simple solder wires to board or to twist socket

or ever to the wires on the 555 globe

Thanks for the answers. The globes under each scoop shot are GI aren’t they?

The light that sits under the purple plastic in the free kick scoops if that makes sense

#6857 2 years ago
Quoted from Qasper:

I don’t believe I have an issue with optos since the coils won’t fire in test. The ball also ends when it drains and the game continues to player 2. Sorry if I was not clear, I don’t have much knowledge when it comes to electrical issues. During ball search the high power coils also doesn’t fire

I managed to get the game working again. Unfortunately I am not exactly sure where the fault was. It was 100% not the fuses and 100% not the wires. I actually think it was one of the chips that was not correctly seated in the back box.

Can anyone please photograph the top and underside of the metal brackets that sit above the 2 lower scoops? The bolts I have don’t fit and also don’t line up with the purple plastic parts underneath. Over 200 photos and that I have no picture of

Recieved my WCS94 CPR playfield today and it’s a beauty! The only thing that looks different is the color of the skin tone. Not sure if this is due the new digital print process compared to silkscreening. The photos of the playfield on CPR’s website look like they have the correct tone. Anyways I’m happy they made them as it’s a well needed playfield. Nice used ones or Nos ones were near impossible to find. Thanks again CPR!

I am having some sort of issue when I enter the World Cup final Los Angeles match. When I shoot the final draw to start the match a ball comes into the trough. I shoot that ball and then the one comes out of the final draw. Then another ball loads into the trough. I don’t shoot it because I like to play with 2 balls then another ball loads into the trough until all of the balls are in the trough. It isn’t supposed to do that. What can I do to fix that. All other aspects of the game seem to be working with no issues.

Need some help, just picked up a WCS and the ball continually spins. As soon as I start up the machine it is spinning and stays on. I am concerned it will burn out the motor. Anyone have any suggestions on what to look at? I haven’t had too much time to troubleshoot just yet. Thx!

Obvious first question...... does the ball stop when you score a goal?

#6870 2 years ago

No, it just keeps spinning for the entire game.

Short somewhere.
Either the motor board is bad, or one of the transistors on the PDB is bad and shorted closed.

So I contacted CPR to see if the “jaundice girl” playfield I received was a “one off” or one of the early runs of their new playfields. They responded and said the first couple of the run were like mine and then corrected. Anyways they sent me a new playfield to exchange as it bothered me. The new one looks great! Here’s some side by side pics of the 2 cpr playfields and the new exhanged one compared to the Bally original. Pretty spot on! Thanks CPR!

Coyote, is there any way to diagnose which it is? It was working fine after the first few plays and then it didn’t. Also, what is the PDB?

PDB - Power Driver Board.

I am on my phone so I do not have the manual handy, but -

There should be a motor control board mounted under the playfield. It should have ~4 wires running to it - +V, GND, Clockwise (CW) Driver, Counter-Clockwise (CCW) Driver. Another plug would have 2 wires going to the motor.

Check first that either the CW or CCW isn't connected to ground when the game is turned on and the ball should NOT be spinning. Neither should be. They should only be connected (continuity) to ground when the ball moves. If neither driver wire is grounded, then the power-driver board is good; it means that one of the transitors on the motor board under the PF died.

I had an issue w a TZ clock which uses the same board and it was a bad transistor on the PDB

Lighting question...
Going comet led.

Should i do sunlight or cool white everywhere even in inserts... or color match inserts?

1smd or 2smd?

Non ghosting or regular?

Anyone know how many bayonet or wedges i need for this game?

Thx so much in advance!

#6877 2 years ago

Warm/sunlight 2smd frosted dome is always the answer, haha.

Buy a 100 qty bag each of #44 and #555, it'll have you covered for WCS, and then mostly for another game. I try to always have a bag of each on hand.

I strongly recommend the purple passions for the purple inserts. They were practically made for this game.

I personally prefer color matching the inserts generally--and the teal bulbs look great in the jets and upper-right lanes.

#6879 2 years ago

Does anyone have a lead on wher I can get the metal ball guide for the mini playfield? I can't even find a part number and I've misplaced mine in the restoration I'm doing - D'oh!

For those that put briterings pop bumper led mod on their game... what color leds did u use under the teal cap?

Warm white to match the GI lighting LEDs since teal wasn’t available

#6882 2 years ago

I went with green I also put a green bulb in the mascot/striker shot and in the lanes everything else is sunlight. I did put warm in the coin toss to match the gold.

Teal in the "ultra" lightning bolts. Trust me.

I also mixed in some other pastel colors in some of the feature lights. Looks amazing!! Ill try to get some good pics of it tonight and post it.

And def go with Comet flashers!!! The light show after a goal or winning the cup is outstanding.

#6885 2 years ago

Awesome

#6886 2 years ago

Some of my Comet LED color options. Hard to get good photos with phone camera. Game looks SPECTACULAR in person when playing. Especially the Goal light shows. The Comet cool white flashers are a must.

I also have a Green flasher in the yellow "GOAL" below the goalie. Give a cool effect when the yellow and green start alternating.

How’s the resto coming along? I’ve finally brought my WCS home and contemplating pulling it apart sometime soon but it’s just too much fun to play!

Just picked up a world cup soccer. Noticed the ball is not diverting into the pops when it's supposed too. My question is what mechanism normally diverts that ball thanks

Well it’s nearly done but has stalled because I can’t find the metal guide for the mini playfield!
Cabinet is done, playfield cleared and repopulated apart from the coin toss and ramps.

Avoid Cliffies in this game. They mess with gameplay too much. Just protect the saucer edges and scoop edges with Mylar.

Color dmd as always, and I also got a cool little scoop light mod from Lee’s mods.

Lock Gate in the upper right of the playfield (#34 on the solenoid table). Make sure the spring is connected properly and check the solenoid/wiring.

#6897 2 years ago

Went in to work on my WCS today. Now when I turned the game on both scoop coils start firing non stop. It also just keeps kicking balls out non stop from the trough any help thanks

Inspect the driver board and MPU for damage and possibly send them out to a pro to be rebuilt.

I tried an extra good CPU board I had and same problem so I'm not suspecting the boards as much.

Hey Chuck do you have any streams or YouTube’s of this pin, I could use some pointers.
