I picked up this Kings a week ago. The cabinet cleaned up real nice. Starting to work under the glass now. Playfield is in pretty nice shape, worst part is the joker on the left. The upper playfield is almost perfect. Any advice on cleaning? Naphtha ok on these older machines? Thanks!

Kings is looking much better with some new plastics from Shay and Titan rings. Not to mention a lot of cleaning. Just need a few parts and it should look real nice. Play is good, but a couple pop bumpers need some work. I'll hold off until I get the new parts though. Only other issue is about 20% of the time that I hit the million point shot the score just keeps going until the game is over (I usually just drain the remaining balls). Doesn't matter which side the points were scored on. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Quoted from bingopodcast:

Without a schematic, I'm not sure. Does it seem to add via motor?

I think so, makes a lot of noise when it's adding. It adds 100k at a time in spurts of 5. So you get tick tick tick tick tick pause tick tick tick tick tick pause.

It is a blast to play! Was having one of my best games the other day when the millions issue kicked in. Still a project at this point, so it's all good.

Quoted from bingopodcast:

So the million relay has to hold for as long as the 500k relay holds x2. The 500k relay pulses the 100k relay via a motor switch. Everything should get the signal to cut it out once the millions unit (if it exists) steps, or once the 100k unit moves to a new strip for the next million.
This is all guesswork without the schem, but I'd check for something like what I describe above. The switch that pulses the 100K relay will be easy to spot as the cam will have at least 10 bumps.

Thanks, I'll try to dig into it this weekend.

Quoted from jrpinball:

Damn, that game is nice!
It was on my radar, but just didn't feel like driving down there that weekend. I'm glad it ended up with you and is getting some love.
If you're going to York, bring it for woodrail row.

Thanks, it's definitely been getting some love. Current plan is to bring Blackjack to York. I'm willing to part with that one if I need the truck space. Might be able to bring both if I take my wife's Highlander.

Cool flippers, are there any more available?

I got most of my problems fixed this weekend. Scoring a lot more points with the left side pop bumpers working, only needed a bit of contact cleaner. Other issue was the 100k chime that had a burnt coil, luckily I had a suitable replacement on hand. It's also been a while since that million point problem has show up. Actually not since I fixed the other stuff, so who knows.

As for spending more than they're worth. Yup, probably me too, but the machines are survivors and deserve it.

It was also nice to hear one of my kids blurt out "I love Kings" while we were playing tonight. Makes it worth the time and money for sure!

Quoted from Murphdom:

That looks great. There is one on Facebook right now with a trashed playfield for $300 which is upsetting after seeing such a nice one.

Thanks, do you have a link? I did a quick search but couldn't find it, I'm not much into Facebook. I did notice a Spirit of 76 that somebody is asking $1500 for. Gotta admit, I'm pretty sure I'd be willing to part with my new machine for that amount!

Quoted from Murphdom:

I don’t have Facebook. But with all these project machines popping up I glanced through my wife’s for the first time and checked the marketplace. I wasn't looking for anything in particular and I noticed it. If I can help you out at all let me know. It’s an hour and half away from me

Wow, that makes me feel a lot better about my playfield. Thanks for posting it and the help offer. I actually in really good shape with my Kings, just need a few cheap cosmetic parts from PBR and I'll be set.

Quoted from Murphdom:

And then you can generously give it to me

I would if only I didn't have this matching furniture!

Oh man. I already have two machines that haven’t even made it to my house yet and this is only 90 mins away...hmm. I have a problem.

Go get it!!! Can always pass it along if you decide not to keep it. Looks pretty sweet though.

this game is tonnes of fun. Still haven't gotten to the final all-specials sequence yet.[quoted image]

Only problem is it's not rodent themed.

A Fun Fair to go with your Screamo? Now I'm doubly jealous.

Those backlit backglasses look great!

#1155 3 years ago
Quoted from o-din:

I'll say! And my playfield is way nicer than that one.
[quoted image]

Would you take $3500 for yours? If somebody wants my Kings for $3500 just let me know.

Very nice. Will the Sittn Pretty be listed?

Already sold. Unfortunately not to me. Wish I was closer.

Quoted from desertT1:

Do these types of targets have a specific name and does anyone know where I can get some? I’d like to get the original logos, but will take unmarked generics if that’s my only option.

Stud targets, look towards the bottom of this page....

Could buy plain white and try to paint or the bell.

Woodrail thread is hot these days!

Anybody know what color Williams Kings should have? A previous owner put wooden ones on it. They look like they might have been black on ipdb, but maybe could have been a matching blue. Did they do that a lot? Thanks!

Quoted from Mopar:

I have a quick question. I know 1956 Williams pins used wooden legs, but were
they commonly red, or 50/50 red/stained? IPDB has a Fun House flyer, but black
and white. Can't tell the legs' color. If both were used somewhat equally, I think
maybe red would look best..

My Screamo has red legs. Looks like stain. Thinking it is still original. One side much more faded. I might restain at some point.

You have Fun House?

Quoted from Mopar:

Okay, Thanks. So you're thinking they came factory stained.
Yea, I have a Fun House. Although I'm basically EM metal rail,
years back I made a trading deal only because I liked the looks
of Fun House (although a chunk was missing from the backglass),
and later learned how rare it seems to be. I see another one on
the IPDB, which actually it's playfield's basic color appears to be black,
mine is blue, but I don't know of another..
The height of the front of Fun House's cabinet is 11 3/4". I'm sure
it's the same as Screamo's. Do you happen to know what length Screamo's
legs are? In the barn I found 2 different lengths with one a little wider
and an inch shorter. I think those are the ones, but I like to make sure
before I begin to work on them..
I had a new glass made. It looks and performs exactly as if it were
silk screened. I had an extra one made so it would be more worth the effort
for my Graphic Designer and hoping someone could use it, but as I pretty
much figured, no one responded back saying they could use one..[quoted image][quoted image]

Cool, would love to see more pictures! Backglass looks great!

Screamo cabinet is indeed the same size. Legs are 32 1/2". I'm not sure if they came stained originally, but they must have been stained a long time ago to fade like they did.

Looks great, I'm jealous! Thanks for the pics!

Quoted from undrdog:

Hi-Hand Wms 1957 woodrail bingo has red metal legs.

I wonder if that's the color my Kings had originally? Somebody put wooden legs on them, so I don't have the metal ones. I don't think red would look very good on it.

Not sure what last one is, but I do enjoy the impulse flippers on my Screamo. It's something different for sure, really gotta time your flips. Glad nobody did the "upgrade" on them, I probably would have been to lazy to reverse.

Always room for 1 more! You gotta save the poor thing!

Hello woodrail group. I’ve poked around Pinside looking for any recent discussion of value for a Williams Screamo (1954 woodrail). Not seeing anything. Anyone have a sense of current market value for it, please? Assume fully working and above average condition, please. Or if I overlooked a recent post or thread, please direct me. Thanks!

Not sure how I missed this. I paid $500 or $550 for a mostly working Screamo about 2 years ago. Tic tac toe part wasn't working properly, but is now. Here are pics, so you can compare...
