I made my stencil using Oramask 811 and clear transfer tape. I started by looking at pictures on this site and then drawing the pattern on the Oramask using pencil. I then lightly scored the area I wanted to paint and removed the excess material. I then put the clear transfer tape over it and I was done. It is easy although very time consuming.I would have bought a set if they were available. Here are a few pictures of my work in progress.

Quoted from mtbpinball:

Picked up a Williams Rocket pinball. Total project game. but I would like to put it back together. I did find a Repro backglass. If anyone has this game and could send me a picture of the front door so I can be sure it's complete also I need a back door ..but I guess I could make one for the head. also need a few caps that say fire. or maybe this games too far gone to put back together and just sell it?? but it is complete other than that.

I wish you were closer. That is my birthday pin. It looks like a nice project.

I have an opportunity to buy a 1959 Around the World pinball. It will need a full restoration. Is this a game that is worth the effort and is fun to play?

Quoted from RyanClaytor:

Oh, Jesus, yes! I have been haranguing my local buddy to sell me his ever since I played it. Please, yes, save it. Completely worth it. Super fun two player game with some innovative playfield features.

I’m not ready for another project, but may pick it up based on your response. The seller isn’t in a hurry which works in my favor, but also means she is asking too much. Time will tell. I need to finish my Jacks Open first anyway.

I hope to find a Rocket some day.

Quoted from mrm_4:

Someone just listed one, price seems steep....

I saw that and was very happy at first. When I saw the asking price I expected a pristine example. Then I saw only two pictures that showed a project game. I also noticed this was the persons first post and has just joined Pinside. My guess is they have the game over priced by about $3300. I did ask him for more pictures.

Quoted from ChipScott:

Wanted to share a recent addition.
Really feel lucky to have acquired this game.
Needed just a couple minor things and a few minor touch-ups, but overall its looking and playing really well!

Great looking game.

Awesome looking game.

Quoted from crujones4life:

I know someone looking for a 1959 Williams Rocket. Anyone know of one within a few hours of St. Louis, MO?

Yeah me too. Good luck with your search. A month or so ago a pinsider had a very nice one listed in the market place. I think he still has it.

Virginia for sale near me. austin.craigslist.org link

Interesting piece of history. I wish I had room for something like this. I think he is asking too much all things considered.

Quoted from stavio:

Sunshine is an awesome title. I love mine.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I looked at a Sunshine a few years ago in Orlando. I really liked the artwork and the backglass is cool with the ratings. Unfortunately it was in bad condition and there was evidence of termites. I passed, but haven’t forgotten. Someday I’ll find a good one.

Quoted from Flipsteen:

Excited to have found one high on my wishlist for a winter project. Apparently it works but not taking chances until I give it a thorough spit and polish.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

I decided I won’t take on anymore projects. I’ve done four restorations and am burnt out. For this game I would make an exception.

#1680 1 year ago

Do you plan to replace the coil labels?

Quoted from Garrett:

Had a Majestic for a period of time some years ago. First Gottlieb with the roto-target.
What I really liked was how the lower mech board was hinged to allow easy repair.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
[quoted image]

That’s a great feature I’d like to see on my games.
