I recently pulled the legs off my 50's Williams woodrail and found two of them weigh about 2 pounds where the other two weigh about 3 lb 6 ounces minus the leveler hardware and they're all the same length.

Are the heavier ones supposed to go in the back to support the back box?

I'm not sure. I believe these are the original legs from my game. I'll have to weigh the ones from my other game for comparison.

I believe some Williams legs were painted red like mine and some were brown during this period. The wood on the heavier legs is probably a harder wood but I'm wondering if that was intentional for additional support in the back?

What about your wooden legs? Do they all weigh the same?

Here's a picture of them. They look the same except 2 of them are heavier.

Quoted from currieddog:

Did you check for hidden treasure?

That's actually not a bad idea LOL. I took a quick peek inside the hole with a flashlight. Would be interesting to run one of those wifi endoscope cameras inside and take a look.

Quoted from Shapeshifter:

Are you sure they are the same?

Looks like bolt holes in a different place ie higher up on one leg?

Also check width of legs.

The bolt holes are the same height and leg widths the same.

I asked DirtFlipper if the heavier legs are intentional and this is his answer, "Not really. It’s just random wood selection and aging."
