It's a mode based game, but the mode played is not linear. If you think about TZ, there are a slew of modes randomized by pop bumpers, slings etc. With DI, it is similar in that the modes can be randomized, but are also selectable by flipper presses. And the cell phone is just a toy of the game, it is not 'the theme'. Those that say it is haven't played it (I thought it was a game about cell phones too until I played it). And if you have played it and think that get off the drugs.
