I say it's about time would love to see one.

Man if stern had the hunger games license. that could of been a good one. Maybe the market wasn't ready a couple years ago, but I think now the world is ready, the ww movie may help prove that?

    #52 6 years ago

Highly encourage anyone that hasn't seen the movie to go see it. Even if you aren't into 'girl power', it's a well executed super hero movie on par or better than many of the Marvel movies.

    #53 6 years ago

This would be an A+ title for a pinball machine, although I suspect that it would lean towards being a Justice League pin rather than focus solely on WW and that it will be a few years and depend on the success of subsequent movies. If they lay an egg on the next 2 or 3 movies, the DC movies will fizzle out again and there will be no pin.

    Quoted from tbanthony:

I down voted because I don't need WW ass pics. WW is very well done and entertaining and a great example of a strong female lead. I like attractive women -- married one! But, in the context of being respectful to the movie and character which were very well done and tasteful, I'm voting for keeping the nearly naked WW pics out of the thread. It kind of goes against all of the positive aspects of this movie. While WW (Gadot) is very attractive and there is no shame in enjoying that, I also think the WW story line is great for inspiring young women in a positive way. Let's not turn it into a tits and ass thread. Plenty of porn sites for that if you want that. Just an opinion; I realize others will disagree.

Respectful to the character??? Have you seen the costume the character has been wearing? Her costume has always been titillating. The whole tying one up with a "magic lasso" to tell the truth is a bit erotic. Sex sells. Don't blame me because you have mixed feelings you have with seeing a girl in essentially a bathing suit.

I would prefer to make lots of room for drawn art, instead of cut and paste photos. The only problem is figuring out which looks and costumes to go with.

I like Ed Benes and Adam Hughes from the comics. Darwyn Cooke's is also good if you want a simpler, stylized look.

Google Adam Hughes Wonder Woman. He draws some beautiful women and there are some really good Wonder Woman covers.

You sure like to thread the line . That is a porn star, however that picture isn't porn but just because you have the "freedom" to post pictures doesn't mean everyone wants to see that. Put your big boy pants on and realize not every male wants to see half naked women in a pinball forum.

I'm certainly no fuddy-duddy, but I believe that the OP is female, so the pics may be disrespectful.

    #68 6 years ago

If you look at some super positive reviews of the new Wonder Woman film you'll almost always find veiled the reviewer's childhood sexual awakening embedded within it. (some very much NOT veiled)
And if you look at the very negative Wonder Woman reviews, all of them hint at said childhood boner being ruined due to whatever aspect of the depiction not being quite right for them.
We get it. Many of you have feelings.

Just keep it in your pants, recognize that the franchise has grown in to something more for generations of women, and we are on the cusp of a high quality viable franchise that will make an excellent pinball theme.
Best of all worlds. You get your slyly referenced childhood fantasies, young women get a role model presented to them now by women creators, and everyone maybe gets an excellent game.

I don't want the topic drained just the post.

But we should only cater to only the manliest men here.

WW itself is fine but when there are posts of obvious over sexualized versions that is a little OT.

Ed Benes is a lot better than Liefeld but I agree he seems to have come from the Image Comics School of Art. There are some other pics that show off his poses and facial expressions. I like how his Wonder Woman is muscular but not overly so.

Darwyn Cooke's is probably my favorite because his designs are cute and look similar to the Batman cartoon but if you've read The New Frontier you know despite these cute designs the storyline is far from kids' stuff. His Wonder Woman loves blood and battle and isn't afraid to tell Superman he's a pansy.

Well, this is the kind of banter that can't seem to be agreed upon, isn't it? Regardless of what you feel vs. what I feel vs. what someone else feels about "sexualized", that post clearly isn't a pure Pinside nudity violation. It's the kind of discussion that ends up in locking threads, like my backglass thread did awhile back. The complainers that simply can't look away will ultimately force the hand...that's what's sad. I'm out.

Never will be agreed upon. However if this was a forum for exotic dancing or such, I can see it being the norm. But when a generally harmless thread about a women lead gets thrown in with over sexualized porn stars posing.... come on, there is a time and place for that behavior but lets keep it out of a positive thread. Wasn't there some half naked female thread for those

You're right--it's never going to be agreed upon. Wonder Woman, just like every other character in the world of fiction, will have different meanings to different people. Even among women. I know plenty of women who feel the way the OP does about the character, and I know lots of women who view her sexual appeal as part of the character. I've been a comic fan for most of my life, and work in the comic industry. You'll never separate the two views, nor should you. The idea that only one view should be posted in a thread is somewhat ridiculous.

Wonder Woman's general sexualization is a symptom of the overall patriarchal atmosphere of the comics industry, etc etc. Though I wouldn't mind a thread that posts topless male superheroes, and we can all argue about which ones provoked our sexual awakenings. I mean, have y'all seen the new Aquaman? Yowza!

And just because you don't want to see doesn't mean you have the right to censor the rest of us.

And how would you know if that is a porn star or not? Oh wait, let me guess it's on your computer until you get caught?

I also believe you are guilty of stereotyping women as pornstars because they are wearing a skimpy outfit. Your righteousness is slightly blurred by your ignorance.

Wonder Woman is a sex symbol on top of being a superhero. Women dig her body just as much as men and want to be and dress like her. A nice ass in that outfit is a nice ass, don't care who it belongs to. And please, by all means, plaster those thighs and ass all over a Wonder Woman backglass!

I would love to see a Wonder Woman pin, it would be great to see a DCCU pin sat next to my Marvel pins.

But ideally I would like to see it after the sequel, as it would mean more audio and visual assets for LCD implementation and modes.

Did you look up that lady? She is a porn Star :-p facts my dear Watson.

I like cleavage and such but I don't need to express my view by posting pictures in every thread remotely relatable to boobs.

And since this is just as bad as politics. I'm done talking about this. I'm gonna go back to my exotic dancer forum and express more views

Bring it on, I would order a Wonder Woman pin for sure.

Would prefer it based on the Lynda Carter TV series though

I am going to check out the movie tomorrow. Fun. It's getting great reviews and money$$$.

I'm not sure a Wonder Woman pin is for me ever- but a justice league pin. That is entirely possible.

Also the greatest Wonder Woman story ever told was in my opinion this.

I would also like to un-see that dude in the costume. Arghh my eyes!

    #89 6 years ago

Just a thought , but I think it would be cool if the design team for a Wonder Woman pin were all women.

    #90 6 years ago

    That would be awesome Trilogy!
Get all the Bally/WMS/DE/Stern girls out of retirement to help with the project!

Pam Erickson or Margaret Hudson on art.
Suzanne Ciani on music accompanied by Stephanie Rogers and Glo Van Vlack reprising their sweet BK2K angelic chorus for WW's theme song instead!
    Zofia Bil (Ryan) on toys/mechs.
    Kristina Donofrio on code.

Now all that is missing is some fresh blood for the PF layout/design.
Maybe Jeri Ellsworth or Molly Atkinson would like to take a stab at it?

    #91 6 years ago

Chris Franchi who did an awesome job on BM66 has done some Wonder Woman stuff. It would be awesome if he was involved considering he is doing some more stuff with Stern.

Here's one of his pieces that would look very handy on the backglass.

All women design team? Good idea but would entirely rule me out of purchase. But again a justice league pin. She is on it. The movies in the works. It's probably already on the board if not it is now. Just my opinion.

Also. I love the Wonder Woman ass and cleavage pics. Is she a porn star? But wait I digress...

Did Margaret Hudson ever do the majority of a machine's art? For some reason I remember thinking she is a pretty good artist but she was always a part of a team and it's hard to tell what she did and didn't do.
