I agree about the fairy. Needs to be lowered, too much black space in the upper left.

She’s flying down to take her spot!

OK here is the latest version. I'm still not sure about the big pinball, but this is the latest iteration with the words.

Other than that, things are pretty much the same, but there have been a variety of improvements. As usual there were some minor positioning changes to make things look better. Around 6 or so of the images were replaced with higher resolution versions, this was because when I zoomed in to check things out for printing, some of them weren't too great.

The Magic Girl and AC/DC Luci have their color hue dialed down just a bit so they blend in better.

The main one I am not satisfied with is the Tales From The Crypt blonde lady with the chainsaw, who is on the bottom row. This one is a little bit fuzzy or pixelated. If anyone can steer me toward a nice high-res version of this, or has one, it would be appreciated. I haven't been able to find anything better searching the googles.

Once the last bits are done, I want to make a test print, or maybe two, to see how it turns out. If things look good, I'll make the print-ready images available for whoever wants them. I was thinking of two possibilities, I may try them both:

Costco has a metal print which looks like it might be nice, shown here, I would do the 16x20":

    https://www.costcophotocenter.com/wall-decor/metal-prints

Fedex has a backlit poster that might be cool, although it is not clear to me if this actually includes some sort of light (I presume not), I would do the 18x24":

I think Angelica Houston is out of place in that collage of drawn women. At a glance she just looks like a floating face. I like the Idea of all drawn women as opposed to real life images.

    #155 3 months ago

Thanks for moving the fairy down, but now you need to clip off the excess black space along the top of the image.

And I still think the snake-lady is a poor choice, especially along the top where it really stands out.

    #156 3 months ago

Thanks to TheHueManatee again for contributing to the project, the Tales From The Crypt chainsaw lady now looks great.

    Quoted from SuperPinball:

I think Angelica Houston is out of place in that collage of drawn women. At a glance she just looks like a floating face. I like the Idea of all drawn women as opposed to real life images.

I thought she should be in there because Addams Family is such a classic machine. I gave her the "comic-ized" treatment similar to what was done for Pam Anderson and the Tron ladies, it should look better on the next revision.

    Quoted from mbeardsley:

Thanks for moving the fairy down, but now you need to clip off the excess black space along the top of the image.
And I still think the snake-lady is a poor choice, especially along the top where it really stands out.

I also have a lot of requests to leave the Viper lady in, it is also a classic one for a lot of people. The good thing, with every single piece of machine art on its own layer, it would be easy to do a swap out. As long as the general form factor of the replacement is similar, another image could go in its place. Which I wouldn't mind doing.

Well, after getting this last version done, I have already had to make a fair number of new corrections, some of them are fairly major. This project sort of morphed and expanded as it went along, at first I was just making the Sgt Pepper's album cover for the heck of it. This was OK, but it wasn't good planning for printing. In order to get a good file ready for printing, it needs to be slightly changed in at least one dimension in order to fit the print restrictions, such as 16x20" or 18x24". It turned out, this wasn't so easy to do the way I had it set up. Without going into all of the details, I needed to take care of the edges better so that background space (currently black) could be expanded to fit into the print dimensions and still look OK.

Stay tuned for a new revision then, and we'll see how that goes. I know a lot of you are itching to get it printed and so am I, but I want to get it as good as it can be before we do that. Its easy to change the pixels and make new jpgs, but once you spend you money on ink and paper its done.

    #157 3 months ago

Also, if anyone has it, I need to get a better picture of the Black Fever lady. I did find one that is better than the slightly fuzzy one that's in there now, but its still not totally clear. I think this is a rarer machine and I have had problems finding pictures of that backglass. This is the one I have now, I think it is a recreation done by the Virtual Pinball people. Its better, but still kind of out of focus.

Thanks! didn't think of that. I was able to find a flyer image slightly larger than that one, its still a bit small as far as total pixels, but it is an improvement over what I have and I think it will work OK.

    Which I wouldn't mind doing.

To be fair, you have been pretty accommodating of our requests and this has probably been a much more collaborative project than you started out anticipating. Thanks for making this somewhat of a group effort (with you doing all the work!), its been fun to be able to participate and I look forward to a print of the final version!

    #161 3 months ago

Sure, the reason I posted it here was because I knew it would be improved by all the ideas that would come in that I never thought of. The rest of it is just some basic Photoshop stuff which is no problem, except for that damn pinball, that one turned out to be a pain.

    #162 3 months ago

Been playing Where’s Waldo with the AFM lady, can someone please point her out?

    #163 3 months ago

Just a suggestion...but the one I highlighted in green seems out of place to me.

It also takes away the opportunity to reduce the black from the top of the frame because of the snake protruding towards the top. Could it be replaced?

    Just a thought...

Maybe just crop the snake/arm will do the trick and allow the black at the top to be reduced.

Also, maybe add some depth to "100 WOMEN OF" by adding a shadow to the letters.

Overall, looking great! Can't wait to get this on my wall!

    #165 3 months ago

Looks fine to me to have some black at the top.

Yes, this is what I was saying. If people really want the snake-woman included, maybe she could swap places with another image - one that wouldn't protrude so much at the top.

    #167 3 months ago
    Quoted from Mr_Tantrum:

On the very bottom left next to the chainsaw. But I realize now that this one is from an alternate translite. I could put the original one in, but I do like the look of the one that's in there now better.

I can swap Viper out for a different one easily enough. Well, who should go in there that is missing???

    VOTE!!!

    #168 3 months ago

This is really cool and definitely very Sgt. Pepperish, well done! I've thought of several that are missing like Deanna Troy and Dr. Crusher from STTNG, M.J. from any of the three Spider-man, the girl in the float from MM and Mantra from Pinball Magic but I think keeping it more to the classics is better, though I think a case could be made for MJ from the GTB game and the float girl in MM. Thanks for sharing.

    #169 3 months ago

I had to do a variety of moving around after I started to size the files for printing. For a typical print job, you are locked into a certain set of dimensions. In order to make it fit right and not look weird, I need to have black space on the sides as well as the top, this gives some room to mess with the total dimensions and get it right (by changing the amount of black space). The problem was, I had done some positioning with the figures "cut off" on the sides, often according to the limitations of the art. So after various manipulations this is the latest version. I also fixed a number of other issues here and there with the artwork, you probably would never notice unless you zoomed way in. But these things would show up on a big print I think.

The Viper lady is cut out as you can see, waiting for a replacement.

I also did a careful recount and found out there were actually 101 figures. It has to be exactly 100, I don't have a good reason for it other than, I like it. So one was taken out. See if you can figure out which one!

I still don't have a perfect version of the pinball, but there are lots of options saved in the Photoshop. This one is altered slightly.

That's why I couldn't find here. Original is more elegant IMO, but it's your project.

Latest version, I think it is getting very close, if not ready to try some prints. More improvements were made for some of the images, original AFM lady instead of the alternate translite, and Big Bang Bar put in where Viper was.

Looks like something got left behind after a cut/paste.

Strikes and Spares lady’s shoe. She’s got looong legs! I’ll block that out on the final version.

Girl from Satin Doll needs to be in there badly!! Also the Creature needs to go, out of place

    #178 3 months ago
    Quoted from dgpinball:

Agreed. I would remove him and the woman he is holding.

Personally I would also replace Pam and the Tron girls with others. I realize you processed them to fit the style but they were not originally "drawn" that way. Kind of takes away from the whole art aspect of the figures.

    No Fathom sea nymphs??

I can do this. I have a good image of Satin Doll that will work. If I go this route, I need to change Creetch, Pam, and 2 Trons for 4 total. Satin Doll is one so I would need 3 more. Some I am thinking of:

    Williams Caravan
    Chicago Coin Casino
    Williams Circus Wagon (1955)
    Williams Lucky 7
Gottlieb Mermaid - playfield (I really like this one)
    Gottlieb Pinball Pool
    Gottlieb Roller Disco
    Bally Sheba

Front And Center, hugging the big pinball!

How about the chics on the plastics on the Bally KISS pin...no pic handy but can post one later if needed.

    !

Some very nice choices... most I haven't seen. I think the disco is too flashy. I added snaps of your suggestions for quick reference... and added Lady Robinhood, Totan, and pool sharks for consideration. This thing is getting better everyday... !

Finally got around to a new revision. I appreciate all of the comments, I can't do all of the requests, but I agreed with a lot of the ideas and put some into action.

There are still 100 total women of pinball. Changes for this version:

CFTBL is out, no more Creech in the pic. Replaced by Satin Doll.

2 ladies from Pool Shark replace the 2 Tron ladies.

    Lucky 7 replaces Barb Wire.

None of the ones that have been taken out are gone, they are still sitting in the Photoshop file, just with visibility turned off. Also, its not necessarily easy to just swap one for another. There are different poses, different degrees of completeness (many are only partially shown), etc, so every change requires juggling to keep everything looking balanced.

I'm hoping this is the final version ready for print. Still won't know how it will come out on a big print until we see it. But looks great on the computer screen I think.

This is what I call one of the "Easter Eggs". There are a number of them in the pic. Some of them were accidental (like this one), that is, I didn't do it intentionally. Others I will admit were done by me intentionally for a bit of humor.

One of my favorites is Dolly Parton giving a spanking to the Black Fever lady.

The Capt Fantastik hippie chick who was famously one of the causes of the "blue stars" censoring because she was inappropriately grabbing the guy behind her is now doing the same to Patti the Playboy playmate.

And I'm surprised no one has commented on the Twin Win lady yet.....

Looks like a bit of 'empty' space right above the "PIN" on the bat. Just red legs and scarf. Seems like a women laying in the opposite direct as the woman above the "BA" would fit well, but I have no suggestions for that image.

    It's already truely amazing as-is!!!!

Good eye, I never noticed that before, but as soon as you said it I couldn't unsee it. It turns out that I think a good fix for this was done with just a bit of rearrangement of what was already there.
