You can determine whether it's an electrical or mechanical problem by running 2 alligator clip jumper wires out the front door. One from the 25 volt fuse, and the other from the ball release coil. When you tap the free ends together, if the ball release remains sluggish the problem is mechanical. If the ball release is crisp and reliable the problem is electrical.
