So, my IJ has been on and off been doing a watchdog reset when both flippers are hit. Last time I went in there to adjust things I was convinced the J901 connector was super loose fitting and reseating that connector makes the problem go away.

Fast forward to today where on a rainy day decided I was going to replace the IDC on both sides of that cable as it had started doing resets again.

After testing, now both flippers are super weak. Troubleshooting so far:
- Ran Diode test from here, passes
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/sttng-weak-flippers-1#post-5433517
- Reseated every connector on the fliptronics board as it wouldn't be the first time bumped something loose when removing a connector.
- Reterminated the wires again thinking maybe i had a bad insertion / voltage drop - same results again.

Thinking my next step is to pull the fliptronics board and reflow the back of the connector.. maybe my new / non-worn connector cracked the solder on the back when i inserted it

: )

easy fix.
With the wires on the other side, the flippers were working on 'flasher power'

So, with J-104 you want the wires on pins 4 and 5?

For the sake of continual learning, why would that connector have pinouts for flasher voltage?

No,
The wires 'are' wrong on pins 4 and 5 on 2nd picture of the 1st post.
So I made an animated GIF with corrected wires on pin 1+2 (2 most left pins of J104 on photo)

Because this powerdriver board is designed this way. Some WPC-machines use this 20Vac output for specific purposes ( HS2 and CftBL come to mind)

just updated post with caption that my pinout was wrong so nobody comes later and doesn't read the thread but looks at the pic
