Just found this "Easter Egg" in the Bride Of Pinbot swap I am doing for someone. My best guess is they had a cabinet they couldn't use and decided to recycle the wood. Anybody else find something similar? Pretty sure it was done at the factory, has a 1991 build date stamp on the edge and this is not an edge part.

I’ve never seen that before. But then again I’ve only owned 28 pins

Great way to not waste a cab that didn't make the cut. Pretty sure it was Churchill that did this.

Yes... I too have seen it on other games.

However, typically the artwork is somewhat hidden by placing the decaled side towards back of game.

I recall a photo of someone posting their Wms IJ with an TZ recycled cabinet inside

There’s some really cringy ones in my opinion like MM cabinet used to hold a monitor in a midway video game etc

Some people made shelving out of extra NOS playfields back in the day. At some expos they had pallets of extra High Speed playfields for $50 a year or so after the game was made.

Not uncommon. I once worked at a place that had a Gaplus that had a piece of a Ms. Pac Man cabinet as the bottom of the cabinet.
Pieces of wood like this are likely from Overstock, or mis-painted / damaged pieces of cabinets, and what was structurally usable got recycled.

I have a Cruis'n USA and Killer Instinct with pieces of a Road Show cab in them.

    Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

    That is a travesty!
