Broken wire (resized).png
#1 3 months ago

Have a wire I don't see where it's supposed to go. It's blue/red, located near the #2 Flip relay. I can't find it on the schematic. Can someone provide a photo showing where is't suppose to connect to? Many thanks.

It looks like that blue-red wire your picture is showing comes from the wire bundle above and to the right of the #2 flip relay. I don’t see where any blue-red wire that comes out of that bundle near that area but maybe the picture is deceiving.

There are 2 blue-red wires that come from a big wire bundle just behind the flip relay and they go to the 2nd switch from the left on the bottom stack of the #2 Flip relay.

Hope that’s it. Let me know, I’ve got the playfield still elevated.

Yes, the blue/red wire does come out of the bundle above and to the right of the #2 flip relay. (Exits close to that lamp). I already have the two blue/red wires attached to the switch stack. So this disconnected wire goes where? Any more help?

I’ll take another look.

After checking the schematic there are 3 likely suspects:
#21-5
3000 bonus lamp connection from the bonus unit disc. At schematic location B22.
#21-3
#4 relay feed from #4 rollover button & #4 target. At schematic location F18.
#21-2
Bonus unit step up coil feed from a daisy chain connections from each of the 1-4 flip relay switches, center target relay switch, 500 relay switch, hole relay switch, & bonus zero relay switch. At schematic location F11.

Checking the areas where pinballdaveh mentioned:
The 3000 point bonus lamp has the blue-red wire but comes out of a bundle on the left side of the playfield.

All the other connections mentioned I see blue-red wires but the don’t lead into the bundle that JethroP mentioned.

Only wire close to that in that smaller bundle that I see is a black-red (in my picture). My picture is right next to the lamp where JethroP said his loose wire came out of the bundle.

The 3000 point bonus lamp is close to that area and is sort of hidden where the solder tab is but goes to the left from there

I already have a blue/red wire connected to the 3000 point bonus lamp.

The 21-2 wire also includes bonus advance relay switch.
Manually close bonus advance relay and check for bonus advance.
Manually latch each of the flip relays and manually close the right lane relay and check for bonus advance for each.
Press center target and check for bonus advance.
Manually close the 500 relay and check for bonus advance.
During the outhole sequence does the machine start you out on 1000 bonus?

Problem solved. I pulled on that wire to see where it went and it pulled out of the bundle. It was only about 3" long. A piece of scrap!
