Quoted from Borygard:A few years ago I'd have said this could very well happen, in fact I offered to head up the project to see that kits got done. Today, knowing what I know, as disappointed as I am to admit this, it's just not going to happen. Way too many road blocks to over come. Way too many people who could care less would need to pull together, get along, and see things through. Just not going to happen.
Gene will tell you even today that it's coming. IMHO, it's not. If miracles were to happen, and somehow it gets done, I'd be first in line with cash in hand to buy one.
Me and a few ex-WMS people who were involved in P2K approached Gene a few years ago to see how serious he was in making WB. He talked about it, but never really acted like he was going to do more than talk.
I've seen the P2K source code. It's well-written, but I also agree that with so many advances in technology, it would be better to re-write an all new system than deal with the myriad of licensing and IP claims associated with the platform. I still think P2K is an amazing design, but there doesn't appear to be a significant-enough market to justify the hassles of reviving it right now
