Quoted from mechslave:

500 kits @ $2500 preorder.... you think WB could be finished and made? 1000 @ $2000?
There's a lot of room ($$$) there for dev costs, since you'd be finishing software and making a playfield kit. No cabinet, hardware, etc... just a kitable playfield with software.
Seems like it could be done, a lot easier to make than a full finished machine! Gene and Planetary? Pigs fly?

I know someone in the industry that looked into having this done. They told me $5000 would be a minimum for the drop in playfield and also side art so you could turn your RFM or SWE1 into a WB. It wasn't just the complexity of getting the parts made and the playfields assembled, it was more so who you had to deal with to get things done.

Quoted from Ahoernchen:

Where are the three partially occupied playfields gone? Gene has still them?

There were actually five playfields and they were all purchased by a collector.

Quoted from vid1900:

If Gene is still locked out of his warehouses, then you know the heat, A/C and electrical are all off.
Say goodby to all that stuff.

He barely had heat in the winter and never had AC in the summer. Most of his collection was in bad shape years ago.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

5k for just a playfield and roms is stupid.

There ya go, Neo. Talkin out of your ass again.

Just because you wouldn't spend that kind of money does not mean many others wouldn't. And someone is stupid if they have the kind of coin to drop $5000 on something like this?

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

Price has a huge factor on how many your going to sell.

Well of course it does, but you have no idea what it costs to manufacture a fully populated playfield like WB. Go ahead and source a supplier for all the parts and then find someone to assemble them and let me know where you're at.
