This is awesome! Are you going straight from the CAD to CnC the Playfield, mounting parts and gluing inserts, and then start testing shots?

Will be cool to see it come to life. Since you’re going straight to CnC.. you probably already checked, but that clearance between the cab and everything behind the backboard looks like it might be pretty tight when the Playfield is slid into the cab?
Quoted from SickNate:Gornkleschintzer,
Yes the pops wouldn’t work and the magnet wouldn’t work with a ceramic ball.
Concerned Pinsiders,
I promise to remake the mechs with steel if they fall apart.
A lot of homebrews are R&Ded with cardboard and poster board.
I think aluminum is a step up.
Very true- a big step up!! The milling is impressive, wish I had those skills
Quoted from PinMonk:For that kind of a tight switch spot, why not just use an opto pair?
+1 Optos are sure nice in places you don’t want hang ups or adjustment issues
Can’t wait to see this on a Playfield!
Looking good! Are you planning on using single wound flipper coils though and pwm them to keep them from overheating when holding? I’d advise using dual wound wms style coils.. two drivers per flipper coil. No buzzing, more reliable imo
Quoted from SickNate:Mbecker,
Yes single Wound coils and pwm for hold.
I’m playing around with the idea of turning hold off for multiball or
Limiting it to 2 or 3 seconds. We’ll see if that is a fun kill or not
If we need to go to dual and use eos we’ll have to add another board as there aren’t many spare coils/outputs
You can tell by the list there are three
Flipper buttons. Not having 2 flippers tied to one switch may help.
Could be fun on a mode or multiball. Lexy lightspeed does it on a mode and it’s pretty fun for a quick 30+ seconds. Hopefully no problems with pwming them but if you have to add 3 coil outputs an 0804 is pretty cheap anyway.
One thought I had on your ball capture mech — what if you trap a ball, kick another out and drain it before releasing the captured one? Does it just sit up there until someone hits it out? Usually the machine would be looking for that ball, I’m not sure how you’ll handle that programmingwise? At a brand new game the Machine will want to reset all the balls to the trough
WireformS look great! I’m interested in the models, I will be cadding mine up at some point and that would def save time..
Are you guys going with scratch python code I can’t remember? Or MPF, or something else? I just know that MPF is generally looking to collect all the balls back At the end of a game before starting the next but I’m sure there’s a bit of programming to do what you guys want it to. Of course if code is all custom I’m sure it’s not an issue at all.
Those are pretty cool looking! Never seen them before, fits theme well. Nice work! 180v on those puppies, damn!! You have a 180v power supply just for those? Or did you get a multi voltage unit that’s supplying other voltages for you?
Love how you can control the outside color glow of each Nixie tube- can’t wait to see these things running in the game!
So you’re waiting for your nephew to wire it... after covid lockdowns start to loosen? Dang it I wanna see this thing flip!!
Quoted from Ceckitti:IM calling it now! The 2021 Twipy for homebrew is already settled!! This game is going to be amazing when done. I wish I was able to play to finished product. AMAZING job so far.
What a day..... what a LOVELY day!!
Excellent! Please go for the 2021 award, I don’t want to compete next year or the year after with madmax!! Game is f’ing awesome, and has been brought to the current state in a crazy fast time.
