Thanks to fellow collector, I have scored a Tales From Arabian Nights. He was half way through a high end restoration. Its my job to take it the rest of the way.

It has great unfaded decals. Chestnut plated ramp, apron, skill shot, sword and brackets. ALL new ramps. All new NOS plastics ready to install. New Coin door. Many more new parts. If it can be replaced it will.

Great John Popadiuk designed playfield. It will take some time but the end result will be worth it.

wowwwwwwww nice pick up!

Nice! It looks like it's sitting where some light from a window may be shining on it though. If that's its current location, you should move it somewhere sunlight will never find it to protect those decals from fading, and quickly.

Again, nice pick up. I really like mine.

This is what I wish my Totan was like. Any idea on where the plating was done, cost, etc.? I would love to do this to my current beater.

#5 11 years ago

I think Mike Chestnut could easily handle the plating. Mike seems to be the plating master when it comes to pinball parts. He's done great work for me before on several items.

Nice and congrats on the TOTAN! I scored one too from another collector friend of mine this weekend too. Mine is very nice and I will be sending stuff out to get plated to either Chestnut or a local plating place that Drano has used before. My TOTAN was also signed by jpop back in '08 when my friend bought it at Expo.

Looks like you got yourself a beauty there.

With AFM, it will never leave my collection, best J pop game in my estimation. Congrats on your pickup.

Quoted from justonemore:

it will never leave my collection

+1 If I had a fire and could only save 1 pin, that would be it.

Congradulations on the great TOTAN ! Your right about the playfield layout, there are some great shots on that game! You have a great addition to your collection! I just wish there was a deeper Eprom available for it. Like the "free only" for CV.

The most beautiful game ever created!!!!

I played it at Gamewarp and loved playfield and killer ramps. Skill shot too. Lamp adds lots of action to the ball.

More plating pics. It going to look sweet.

I could use a new translite. Does anyone have one? I have a nos MM translite as trade.

#18 11 years ago

Dave,

Tried to pm you. Something isn't working. Can you email me. I am interested in the mm translite if you are open to selling?

Looks amazing, and a hot Bally/Williams title right now! I want one!! These are just impossible to find right now in that shape.

Congrats on your pickup!

Simply stunning! Nice pick-up!

Interesting. When I had my stuff plated, Mike balked at the skill shot. He said it wouldn't hold up. I wonder if I should contact him again to see if he's learned that it's ok.
