    The picture sucks, but I have two wires that were cut? And reattached together. I’ve never worked on this type of thing before. One became disconnected and the solenoid stopped working. What is that black connector thing on the wires, how does it work and where can I get them? I want to do the repair correctly have no clue what parts to use to do it right.

    The black tube is heat shrink tube to cover the connection.

    Here is an example of attaching wires with solder and covered by heat shrink tube..

    (not my video) You can find many showing how it is done.

    Neal shows the correct way. The wire in the background covered with electrical tape is the wrong way.
