I have a couple wires on my switch harness (WPC-era) that have the insulator stripped off exposing bare wire... not sure exactly how it happened (game is being restored). Bare spot is near the switch. I'd like to put a matching wire in but I'm not sure where to find a match (white wire with purple tracer). Any tips? Should I find a donor WPC switch harness? Maybe that would not be a good idea either since these wire are now 20+ years old a quite brittle?

Bay Area Amusements sells the striped wire. You can also find them at some electric (not electronics) stores.

You might consider just cutting the wire at the bare spot, and re-splicing and solder with some wire shrink tube to cover the repair.

I noticed two areas... one just had the insulation stripped and most of the copper strands intact but the other was torn free... like someone was playing tug of war with the wire

I did see this and figured it was a very good option but I'm also curious if someone has something better. I like this option as it would allow me to completely replace an entire section of wire from one switch to the next without a splice.

I will used thermo shrink sleeve, just over the bad area. I try to used the sleeve with the same primary color on the wire... don't have to cut anytrhing, just put the sleeve over the dammage area and shrink it
