I need to replace a stretch of wire in a spike 2 machine. The awg is printed on the wire so I know what I need there and I know I want stranded but what type of wire insulation should I be using? PVC or silicone? Are there different types of each of these as well? Thanks

Silicone insulated wire is used in places that require high heat tolerancy. In a pinball game, PVC is OK.
