I need to do some Christmas shopping for me. The regular Winston-Salem auction is this Saturday 12/13. Who's coming and who's bringing something to sell?

I'll be there. Not sure if I am bringing any pins for the auction, maybe my Grand Prix (EM).

    #3 9 years ago

I unfortunately have to bail on my plans to come to this auction. The santa my kids have been seeing since they were born is only doing 1 day this year and it's on the 13th.

    That trumps the auction.

    Hello
I will be at the auction this Sat with several pins and vids and wondering who else l will be there for the last auction of 2014. Its gonna be great weather, no rain or snow so bring those trucks as I bet lots of good video deals are to be had. I hope to meet several of you all this weekend. I will be taking a load today and the rest early Saturday morning. I love to sell them and not haul them back so please bid. I will have all working pins at the show and on free play. I have a few shaker motors and some great new old stock parts and a fantastic new pinball cabinet.

    See you soon!

I am selling one of these from my Data East lineup to make room for Rocky and Bullwinkle. I just installed a new DMD in the pin.

This is one of those times when running out of space (not to mention cash) hurts. I'd love to buy your JP, Buddy, but I can't justify it. Hope the trip proves profitable.

    #19 9 years ago

But which ones Buddy? The suspense is worse than Christmas Eve! If that LOTR is going I might need to hit up the ATM. I'm assuming that Avatar will never be pried from your hands.

    #20 9 years ago

It's not the LOTR. I still have mine from Taylor and have added more mods. Truck has not arrived back from first load and was told the place is packed with equipment.

I am bringing pizza down and will be there early, however I am not sure how long the line will be. You need to eat at that hamburger place Ryan likes, it was awesome. Very big burger and tater tots.

Oh man that one's definitely on my list.

I think you just need a Buddy's Sale List about a week before the auction. That way I can just tell you which ones to drop off at my house on the way by.

    #29 9 years ago

Don't forget to come back and post auction prices.

    Thanks!

Auction was massive today. We had to leave for a Christmas party a little after 3PM. They were still about an hour away from getting started on the pins. I don't think I've ever seen it that busy.

Thanks for the prices wish I could have made it. What kind of condition was the road show and Harlem globetrotter.

    #44 9 years ago

Wow. Some of these prices were good for a change.

    #45 9 years ago
    Quoted from TonyH:

Thanks for the prices wish I could have made it. What kind of condition was the Road Show and Harlem globetrotter.

Harlem Globetrotters did not work. Roadshow looked decent but I don't think it was set to free play so I never got to play it.

    #46 9 years ago

If my count is correct it looks like 53 machines total. If my memory is correct that is about double (or more) from what is normally at that auction.

Prices these days are driving me crazy and it is so hard to gauge what "fair" prices are on machines. It seems like "flavor of the month machines" bring crazy high prices and other machines seem to sell very cheap these days. Am I wrong on this?

    #47 9 years ago

Prices seem pretty good. I assume that's before fees, though? Even after fees it seems that there were decent deals to be had, though.

    #48 9 years ago

It was definitely an impressive spread of machines and prices were all over the place especially when you take into account the condition of the machine. Some of those machines were in pristine condition and went for a very good price while others needed significant work and went for top dollar. Add in taxes + buyer's fee and they're not quite so great. All I know is TOM went for a fair price but more than I wanted to pay so I'm not too crushed we couldn't stick around til the end.
