Quoted from herbertbsharp:

It certainly looks like a JJP Wonka game, it looks great, especially @ $7500, but no mind blowing surprises.

Is that for standard?

#152 5 years ago

It still looks like a pinball game...

I should have expected that.

#153 5 years ago

Would have liked to see them show the whole machine cabinet playfield before they started playing

#154 5 years ago

Shared Multiball using a shared ball lock player to player.

#155 5 years ago

Looks great. Somebody getting one sell me your MBr for 5k.

#156 5 years ago

They should really integrate some slot machine technology/play

Looks like fun. Plain & simple.

Quoted from usandthem:

So, when Kaneda spouted off about it not being like anything you've ever seen before and blowing everything away for essentially all of eternity, what exactly did he mean by that?

It has to be in the geometry or overall theme integration, I guess. It's not really that different from WOZ, DI or POTC in terms of the level of mechanics. Not that that's a bad thing, but yeah, nothing really surprising.

Looking forward to trying it out!

Love the cinematic music.

#162 5 years ago

We in the pinball community sure like to eat.

Looks fun but hella overhyped.

#164 5 years ago

Repeating Twitch audio. Annoying..

#165 5 years ago

Is it just me, or does the playfield have some resemblence to good old Judge Dredd? Shots positioning, loops etc.
Looks interesting, but I can't tell if it's something for me based off the video..

#166 5 years ago

UMPA ON THE PLAYFIELD!!!

#167 5 years ago

This has not been a smooth reveal. Oompa Loompa down, ball search on first launched ball.

#168 5 years ago

Is it just me with the skull picture

#169 5 years ago

Which model is this..le?

It's a metal ball in a wooden box fulled with solenoids going off etc. It all comes down to luck sometimes...

#171 5 years ago

Le has additional ball lock over the standard

#172 5 years ago

Coil count looks promising.

#174 5 years ago

Welp. Looks like you'd expect a Wonka pin to look like if you've already seen the Blu-ray cover or the slot machine. Lots of inserts, lots of flippers, sure it's fun, JJP makes complete games. But already lost interest, I don't see any amazing toys, art is lunchbox regurgitated, sound is whatever.

Everything I said about licenses definitely applies here. I'm sure people will have fun with it. But I'm definitely bored already. Hype was overinflated, surprise.

Me too, for sure. But in the end, it's just another pinball machine. Don't really know why anyone (myself included) would think differently, well except that it's been hyped beyond anything I've ever seen. So as far as the hype:delivery ratio is concerned, meh.

#176 5 years ago

Refreshed all good

LE

THIS SHOULDA BEEN STIR CRAZY

Quoted from PinPatch:

Le has additional ball lock over the standard

So they've gone Pro then? Actual missing features. Hmph.

#180 5 years ago

Or Young Frankenstein.

#181 5 years ago

Reminds me of rollercoaster tycoon!

#182 5 years ago

Standard no wonka physical lock (wonkanator?) like LE and CE. Rules no change meaning virtual lock I think.

#183 5 years ago

That's it? YAWN... NEXT!

#184 5 years ago

"An SDTM Production"? An?

#185 5 years ago

As a big pinball noob, its me or JJP look way good looking and less cheap than Stern? Its almost like B/W vs Data East/Sega

Hope springs eternal. It's part of the fun in this hobby.

#187 5 years ago

WOZ is still JJP number 1 game

This is the same broken record we hear from you on every reveal.

Yikes. Truth. Unfortunate truth. Playfield layout looks boring. Art looks very clipart-y. Lots of open space in the art. Hope it shoots well. Wonder what pricing will be on the Standard since Pat says they're "working hard" to make the low model attractive for routes. $8000 is not it.

#190 5 years ago

It's a freaking awesome looking machine for $7,500 but maybe over hyped just a bit.

I suppose so, which is why The Beatles was such a crusher for me. Worst game in 20 years, make that 40 when you take how badly they squandered the greatest theme ever so badly.

#194 5 years ago

Jack paid off Kaneda

#195 5 years ago

I love the backbox animations getting better with every pin. I like the balls remaining icon.

#196 5 years ago

Easy decision... BLACK KNIGHT!

#197 5 years ago

Watching the reveal, I was really expecting Wonka to meet the same expectations and standards as WOZ. Kinda disappointed on that. Looks like a good game though. I’ll have to play it in person to really decide on buying it.

I dont know if I'd go that far

#199 5 years ago

Just realized the standard is $100 more than Oktoberfest.

API...rut-roooooh.

Never make me agree with you... on anything! Haha.
