I had a reset problem on my Taxi once. It turned out to be a pitched wire. I accidentally caught a wire when I screwed in my board set. It is actually easy to do on System 11 games. If you have removed any boards lately you might want to double check and make sure nothing is caught around or under the screws. The problem with your mechanism may or may not be related to your reset problem. Does it move freely? I would take it apart and give it a good cleaning and new coil sleeve just to be on the safe side.
