Beleive it is just booting up in audit mode. After you changed battery it would of lost settings - so go in and change it back to system 6 free play which is adjusting the max credits to zero (cant recall off top of my head which adjustment # that is). Then turn it off and back on.

Also make sure you test and make sure you are delivering the proper voltage from battery.

Ok its function 18. Middle button in up position, toggle until you get to function 18. Player one display will show value. You want this value to be zero. Hit start button to set this value to 00. Then turn game off and back on. And if battery is working the setting should hold.
