Working on a Flash project and having a problem with a segment out on MDB, player 1 and player 2 displays. Thought at first it was burned out resistors on the MDB, since some of them looked toasty. So I pulled a working MDB from my Disco Fever and dropped it into Flash. On power up all the segments lit up on the MDB, player 1 and player 2. However within a few seconds the same segment went out and I smelled burning, touched the resistors on the MDB and they were burning hot, so I quickly shut the game off.

My question is, if it's not the resistors on the MDB what else could the problem be? I have a new Gulf Pinball power supply and a new Rottendog MPU/Driver combo, the connectors all look good, nothing burned or toasty so I don't think that's the problem. Could it be the slave displays, if so what could be the problem on those or could it be something else that I'm missing?

One of the two score displays that have the line missing is shorted internally causing the resistor to cook. Unplug players one and two. Turn the game on. The master display should all look fine. Plug in one display while the game is on. If it drops the line of segments on the display and master, That display is the problem. If all is good plug in the second display. One of those 2 displays is causing your trouble.
