Hi, I have a Whirlwind machine that I've had for about 11 years now, among others. A few years ago, the displays started becoming intermittent, then stopped working. I replaced R4 (39K, 1W) with 5 220K 1/4W resistors twisted together in parallel and that worked. Now R1 (same as R4) has opened and I want to replace them both with original, not hacked-looking parts. My questions is this: should I replace with 1-watt resistors or go with heavier 2-watts since this is a common failure?

2w is a common replacement for those resistors. Ed @ GPE normally includes it in his HV rebuild kit for this class of machine.

Thanks! I went on their web site and was going to get the kit, but they're out of stock, so I ordered two resistors from Marco.
