Hi All! I got a question about a Williams Stardust machine I just got to repair. This is the first time I’m seeing this machine and dose anybody know why the coil under the spinner unit would lock on at start up? Maybe someone had this problem before and before I start digging in schematic I figured I’d ask. Thanks!

Do you have a schematic? If so, check the circuit(s) that cause the spinner solenoid to fire or take a picture of that part of the schematic and post here - folks can help from there.

If you don't, you probably will need one, but in the mean time you could check switches that would likely causes the spinner to spin to see if any are closed by mistake.

It actually looks like the bonus stepper coil is locked on at start up as well. It’s not stepping back on start of a game. I’ll have to find out why because I’m guessing that’s what’s causing the spinner coil to lock as well.

Check the advance bonus targets on the playfield for a closed switch.
