I promise I did at least 2 minutes of searching before starting this topic.

Anyone with knowledge of the Williams purple capped acorn nuts used on Spanish Eyes?

See pictures at https://pinside.com/pinball/machine/spanish-eyes/gallery

I’m working to bring a unit back to players condition. The little purple dots add a nice shot of color. I’m not sure what will happen when I remove them. Seems like they are a combination of metal and plastic?

I know I can source plastic nuts that are 100% purple - or purple anodized. But curious what you all can tell me.

Are they easy to find?

If I clean up the surface corrosion on the metal part, will I damage the purple?

Anyone with direct experience on similar parts?

Thanks!

Do a google search for "anodized acorn nut".

You should get a bunch of results from pinball modding sites, ebay, and a few other random places.

To be clear… I know I can find all purple nuts… but please look at these… never seen anything like them.

I'm not sure what that is. Maybe some sort of nylon locknut with a round cap added on top?

[edit]: Looks like it could be a screw thread protector

Those are one piece, just like acorn nuts. And don't match the photo.

The nut in the photo is clearly different. I can see the regular indents around the rum that holds the nylon inside the locknut, and a separate plastic cap of some sort on top of the screw threads.

I don't think you'll find an off-the-shelf combo...I'm pretty sure it's two separate products that the owner happened to put together.

Oh, I didn't see those. This is what came up for me initially:

It still doesn't match the OP's photo, though.

I have also been looking and unable to find replacements for these. Following with interest.
