Good question, I’ve seen this brought up before.
Some Williams machines carry over achievements from game to game. I guess they decided that if you’re limited to 3 balls you deserve a little boost.

The extra 100 points is probably a switch that is either stuck o or gapped too close.

Good job isolating this. Check the switch on the eject relay that is connected to that wire. It is probably touching or the solder tabs are touching. You might even find a screw or washer causing the connection.
I can post a picture of the relay from the manual if you need it to zero in on it.
