Anywhere I can find a list of Williams machines ordered by chronology. That including their Bally and Midway brands.

#3 12 years ago

I came across a list a while back. One exists but I lost it. I'll look again today.

#4 12 years ago

The Williams list shows 8 other games being made between Black Knight and Jungle Lord... and Cyclone before Solar Fire... That's one messed up chronolgy!

I think HS2 marks the start of pinball's "sweet spot", if you will...

I think there was more than one 'sweet spot' in pinball's history. For me, it was 1979-1980 (Flash, Gorgar, Firepower, Flight 2000, Black Knight, Paragon, Space Invaders, Xenon, etc.)

+1!

I'll probably get toasted for this but I think whirlwind and funhouse represent Williams as thier best efforts in pinball.......IMO

Excellent effort by the way Soren!!! Now where's that Bally one?

Hmm. Didn't notice that there's no world cup.. Looks like I can only offer you $3 for that lot now.

let me rephrase, that marks the beginning of what I consider to be their sweet spot. Ya, i like whirlwind & funhouse too & other games before that.

starting with hs2, the next eight pins on that list are all keepers... that's an awesome stretch.

I think each game has a different feel, everybody seems to like differnt pins. I used to really like the older machines but right now I have a few i am getting bored with

I love whirlwind. In fact, some of the pinsider owners near me have been rudely asked to sell their's to me! Back in the day, my local arcade had Whirlwind and Funhouse sitting right next to each other. Those were the days!

very nicely done

Great list. Mostly I like this because it really goes to show that Williams/Bally, even being the greatest, still made plenty of clunkers (and through their golden years too ).

Stern bashers look at this list and tell me that Stern isn't at least close to the same good game to bad game ratio now that Williams had during this period.

Quoted from guymontag451:

Even their "clunkers" were still built like a tank compared to the build quality of Stern's.

From 1995-1998 Bally/Williams put out some great pins. In just those 3 years they put out more good titles then Stern ever has & i'm not even going back to the early 90's when they really started to kick ass.

Quoted from soren:

1995-12 Attack from Mars
1996-03 Safe Cracker
1996-05 Tales of the Arabian Nights
1996-09 Scared Stiff

1997-03 NBA Fastbreak

1997-10 Cirqus Voltaire
1997-12 No Good Gofers
1998-04 The Champion Pub
1998-07 Monster Bash
1998-10 Cactus Canyon

Give me a list of Stern's that can hang with some of these all time greats.

sports bar great? That and World cup is all you would see at bars back then.

How was I able to get into bars in my graduating year?

Road Kings, Millionaire, Fire, Big Guns, Ramp Warrior, TruckStop, Atlantis, Bad Cats, Bally Game Show, Pool Sharks, Riverboat Gambler, Bugs Birthday Ball, Harley-Davidson, Slugfest, Gilligan's Island, Hurricane are at the very least "questionable" outputs.

I think that we all believe that Williams/Bally were the greatest overall pinball manufacturer in history, all things considered (unless you're an EM guy, then its probably Gottlieb). I just think that everyone is quick to jump on Stern with undue hate sometimes and everytime they release a dud like TRS, its an uproar. Mighty Williams was just as guilty of this. They made tons of classics, but there are also plenty of lame ducks there too. That's not a dig on them or you, just a statement. Stern does make fun games still, even if they are a little "cheaper".

Quoted from pinballslave:

I was gonna put a note in there that the only real dogs I saw in that era were JY, NBAFB, and borderline CP.

If Stern ever has a run where they put out 12 and only 3 end up being lame I think we would all be shocked. Still glad they are around but I think we all agree they can do better.

We have seen games from each decade get better n better but since B/W's shut their doors we really haven't seen anything new or ground breaking? Let's hope JJP brings it hardcore!!

Anyone wanna buy a pimped out 07' HUO SM with all the mods you can think of??? Lol

Well maybe I don't hate Stern THAT much. (;

Quoted from smassa:

My thoughts exactly... I have high hopes, and for some reason get the feeling the 'quality' of the game will be back to the B/W standards... maybe it's 'cos their first pin's a widebody, and all I can imagine is B/W in this format... Then there's the topper... interactive even! I don't recall any Stern with a topper... it smells of attention to detail, of what pinballers want... so I'm very interested to see how it turns out! the main thing that concerns me is how the LCD display will work... it could kill it for me, or it could blow it into another league all by itself!!

I thought Space Shuttle put Williams back on the map? Is there no love for it?

Hi mate - at this link you can see brand new price - https://cointaker.com/products/bride-of-pinbot-20-upgrade-kit

Does it have everything here? It looks like from what I can find it has a DMD screen and the following.

***
The upgrade kit will include:

Dutch Pinball software
Mini-PC
P-ROC controller board
New speaker panel
Color Display
High fidelity speaker set
2.1 Amplifier
Cables & miscellaneous

*

My estimate using USPS or UPS or DHL to ship to me would be around $80 - $120 from previous pinball shipments.

For the pack itself, would somewhere close to what you paid be ok?

Looks like it was $1995 new - if it was stored properly and complete, I could look at paying that much to secure it, mainly cause it's hard to find still.

What do you think is fair? I buy a few things on Pinside marketplace, it's a great resource. Grabbed a shooter rod mod for my POTC JJP last week. Love the community.

I apologize for not having replied right away - I was sleeping. But will check in through the day here. And can of course, pay quickly if we go ahead so you can edit the add accordingly for the machine by itself.
