Small intro about me. Maybe not the correct place to do so, but I'm a newbie. Retired telecom analyst from central U.S.
Dabble in repairing vintage audio and tube amp equipment, but this is my first experience trying to fix a pinball machine.

I am trying to help a friend fix his Williams Jokerz system 11B (now Rottendog MPU installed).
Things I have done and fixed so far: Replaced all the caps on the power supply and the two big ones on the Aux. board.
Checked all the voltages. All seem to be very close except the 25 volt (closer to 38 volts, seems odd?)
was blowing left flipper fuse. I found a shorted diode on that coil and replaced. That fixed the problem, That flipper worked
once and now the system will turn on, but the game will not reset and run. All lamps seem to work, including display. PIA
led flashed continuously, but I believe that is normal.

What I think is next is running the three button diagnostics, but it is confusing to me what buttons to push, navigate and test.
Maybe someone has a better diagram on that then the manual, maybe a video.

    Also, what is attract mode?

I will be gone for a couple days and may not reply during that time

    Many thanks, TommyL

For 11B diagnostics set the middle red button on the coin door to the down position then the press the advance button (the one closest to the door)
Display should read 'music test ' then it changes to 'music off'
Now set the middle red button to the up position and press the advance button again

You should be in test at this point - pressing advance again will take you to the next set of tests (it starts in display test - press advance it goes to sound test - press advance again it goes to lamp test, etc)
If you leave the red button up it cycles the tests automatically - if you put the red button down then you can cycle the tests manually using the advance button to move up one test at a time

To get out of test turn the game off

Attract mode is simply what the game looks like when its turned on but not being played - usually a fancy cycle of lights on the playfield and back box. The display will scroll through high scores/jackpot value/free play/etc

Is there credits on the machine? Is it set to free play? (Hit the coin switches inside the coin door)

OK, I was able to walk through the test sequence. Still need to understand how to "read" the coil and switch tests. My red button does not lock in the down
position, so I had to hold it down to advance in the test mode. Thanks for your help. see the next replay for an update.

Well, you put me on to something to consider and it worked to get it up and running. The machine was set for free play when I started, but somehow it must have reset. Clicking the coin drop lever gave me credits and so the start button worked. Now, I am back where I started trying to fix the left flipper which I repaired once (shorted diode) now dead again, but I think I can find and fix. Thanks for you help. TommyL.

The machine is fixed, the EOS switch had no continuity when closed which meant it did not have enough power to drive the flipper.
    Thanks to all,
