I just upgraded IJ with the L7 rom and I'm getting a checksum error, is this normal for this rom? I upgraded from L6. I also tried downloading it from other sources and still get the same result. Thanks for your help!

Thanks, I've tried different chips, and all ribbon cables are seated properly. I can take the L7 rom out and drop the L6 back in, and it works just fine. I'm very confused by this.
What is strange is that the game still runs fine but gives a checksum error, I would think it would not run the code with an error.
Ok, found the problem. I have no idea why, but I programmed two separate chips with L7 and was getting the checksum error. The programmer did a blank check and even validated the program each time I programmed the chip, I even read the program back off the chip and did a compare with the original file and it was a perfect match and still was getting the error. So I decided just for laughs to erase the chips again, but this time for a longer period of time. I reprogrammed it with the same chip, and now it works. Strange. I will have to remember to erase the chips for a longer period of time from now on.
