Quoted from mrsebest:

After changing batteries on Hyperball getting Error 9. Memory protect circuit faulty or IC19 CMOS RAM faulty. In attract mode lights in playfield do not operate. If I leave it run for awhile and keep cycling the power it sometimes comes back on and plays normal. If I hold down advance button on coin door until it resets, sometimes it comes back on also. If I try and play it without the lights operating during attract mode they do not come on during game play, but everything seems to operate normally, sounds, ball shooter, scoreboard, alphanumeric displays, ect. Really Lost on this one, please help

The error code comes up when Memory protect is set.
Open the coin door then press the test button and the cpu will pass.

No Lights:
1. Check fuse
2. Reseat the driverboard to the cpu
