Williams flipper bushing too tight?

Recently I noticed a flipper bushing was broken in half near the top.
I got a replacement, but noticed that the flipper shaft is too tight.
Tried wiggling it to loosen, but it is still a bit too tight!

Matched by part number when I ordered it.

Any ideas? Too stiff for spring to pull it back.

Thanks!

You got the right flippers installed?

Or

Is the flipper not gapped right? When tightening the flipper it should be about three business cards In depth pulled up from the bushing.

Standard Williams yellow flipper. The ones that the machine came with.
Are there different flipper shaft sizes available?

Good to know. I will check that. Thanks for the tip.

Edit:
Adjusted as you suggested and still is too stiff to rotate the flipper easily.
Flipper shaft is snug in the flipper bushing.

Carefully run a drill bit thru it, to open it up a little. You need to find a drill bit that is just barely tight, to ream the bushing a bit.

The bushing my be bent, so it may not need to be reamed, but a normal sized drill bit to open it a little bit.

Or buy a new one.

That is bizarre.

It should fit.

Is the flipper only stiff after you tighten it? I had this problem on my SOF and it turned out the bushing was too tall underneath. Had to take a a flat dremmel to it to make if shorter so the whole thing didn't bind.

But I think that would only be a problem if the original was wrong. As long as you go by the part number in the manual, it should be good.

Either Marco sent me the wrong model flipper bushing. It looks right and I ordered by part number. Or the flipper on my JD has the wrong size shaft. (Is that even possible?) Is there a way to tell by looking at the flipper if it is the right model for the machine? It appears to be a standard Williams yellow flipper. Marco has great customer service so I am sure they will help me figure it out. Worst case I may need to order more parts after I assess the condition of the other flippers.
I ordered three flipper bushings for backup purposes so will compare them to my originals.

I am not a big fan of having things torn apart. I prefer to play my pins not fix them. I do appreciate the help offered in this forum. Thanks!

Upon closer inspection, of the three Williams flipper bushings that I purchased from
Marco two have a little "blob" of plastic inside the shaft. I assume that it is an artifact
of the plastic mold process.

I will use the good one so I can play my pin again and see what Marco is willing
to do about the other two defective flipper bushings.

I have always said that anyone can sell you something. The deciding factor is
how they treat you when you have an issue. Marco strikes me as a company that
has excellent customer service.

Edit:
Marco is sending two replacement flipper bushings to me free of charge and will
keep an eye out so they don't ship anymore out with this defect. Kudos to Marco.

They have awesome customer service.

I had a faulty pinscore display and it was exchange without question and all shipping was paid. Great service.

I was going to suggest it was probably just a product of mass production tolerances. Weird though that you got two bad ones. Might be a bad run.

Marco sent me a rubber ring kit for a IJ(stern) and it was supposed to be Williams. The packing list said Williams. The resent the kit no questions asked and told me to keep the other kit. Excellent customer service. Excellent!
