Quoted from oldschoolbob:

Is there a trick to setting the tension on the horseshoe switch? Too loose and it don't make contact. Too tight and the target won't drop. This seems like a bad design.
Bob

I have found a trick that works for me & may be worth trying. Get an extra old set of contacts, remove the contacts from each wiper & mount behind - essentially a double wiper. I can get a good contact without too much tension & they drop fine. Works well.
